According to the article on the team site, this was voted on by the players.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if somebody claimed the Teppers demanded that the players voted for the current captains.

It does look like a meme could be started, I blame the staff...... they had hundreds to pick form and that one should have been in the worst 5, not #1 overall.....
