THIS. Only 3 of the 14 playoff teams last year run a 3-4 and the Ravens were the only to advance. Granted 2 of them (bal/pit) played each other, but the numbers are eerily similar every single year. Where tf are all of our PFF/analysis guys?

We were always a better 4-3 team....LBs are not a strength for us...he'll DB isn't a strength for us....HELL DEFENSE isn't our strength

Dave Canales says he does think he had the team prepared for today. "The physical readiness was there." He adds that he has to look at himself to see what more he could have done. #Panthers

mm

Is it weird that this makes me like him more at the moment?

Rhule would have tossed the entire team under the bus, but Canales steps up after almost the entire team looked terrible (and half the time due to their own dumb mistakes that have nothing to do with the coaching) and said he was the problem and not the players.

It does show some leadership to do that and I kinda like it, but man, post ass kicking pressers aren't going to help us win games or win over the fans, need to turn it into wins.

Almost all the high cost players (high contract players, and draft picks) fit a 3-4. It would be very painful and take a long time to flip this defense back to a 4-3.

Completely disagree. We have no linebackers at all and I think all the olbs and de dts would fit fine in a 4-3

    • If you need someone to run your multi-billion dollar business, maaayyyybe don't hire a guy whose previous work experience includes repeated blows to the head and literal brain damage but IDK.
    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
