I can't tell if he's just throwing it up in desperation or throwing it away either. Might be one of those plays where we'll have to go to the broadcast to see if they've got a closer shot that'll give more perspective.

I found one. Let me try to find it again and link it here.

Already covered in the discussion. That route combo calls for the slant to be the rub for the out route. JT0 had TMac's man coming into the area and he wasn't looking at Bryce.

Nijman getting blown up on the inside shoulder makes most of it a moot point.

Saunders still gets wide open in front off Bryce for an easy throw and is staring BY down…..Bryce just gave up looking for a throw and had committed to just sailing into out of bounds by that point though (and Bryce no longer looking to make a real play).

which I suspect is what Dave likely could of said to him that caused that helmet smash.  Good QBs find those throws when things aren't perfectly executed.  That certainly what he is supposed to be for us right now.  But it's still just all the WRs fault for the 3rd year in a row.  Or coaches.  Or OLs.

This was the ineligible man downfield call against Corbett. Let me know if that isn't it and I'll see if I can find it.

Oh that was definitely it, I've always just loved watching him make those kind of catches, his ability to reach out and pluck the ball out of the air with late hands is next level kind of stuff and why I've never been concerned when people bring up the "he can't separate" thing.

No, he's not a true elite separator like some of these 6'ish quick twitch WRs like Chase, JJ, Nabers, etc.  But he brings other elements to the game that even those guys just can't do, because he just has size that can't be taught and combined with his hands/radius, with good QB play, also can't be stopped by any DB.

Arizona grad here. Wanted us go defense in round 1 but couldnt complain with the pick. We saw what we saw in college and he has legitimate hall of famer talent. If we werent victims of Saban retiring and kept the momentum we had going last year he probably wouldnt have fallen to us

100% on that second part.

If Fisch and co. stick around for one more year, last year isn't the dumpster fire it is and he puts up a season that ends up getting him into the Top 5.

I wanted defense in a vacuum as well, because we needed it, but the reality is that there just wasn't any defensive player there at 8 that made any sense to take over him.  Carter would have made sense, but I'm still not even sure Graham would have since we already have DB, it was a bad draft to need defense in the Top 10.

Once it was clear there wasn't a worthy defensive candidate for us outside of Carter, and that he'd never have fallen to us, clearly it was an easy call to me.

Bear Down!

I’m sorry man but I’m still not 100% sold on him. He clearly is our best WR but that’s not saying much. My worry is still separating. He got no space on the almost TD. In college he can make those contested catches but it’s not the same in the pros. Easy TD if he’s got even a little separation, but the CB was able to grab his left arm around his back. Thats how close the CB was.

I think he’ll be our #1, but I need to see more separation to feel like he was worth pick 8.

He's had one real pro game.  I don't know about you, but I saw enough raw talent yesterday to convince me he's a stud at the NFL level, as long as he continues to work on his game.  I'm sold.

Where does all the love for Tet come from? He's been okay so far.

Of course, that stands out when the rest of the team is this bad, but really. He's not breaking any records around here, rookie or otherwise at this point.

So to you, a player needs to break records to show that he's a true elite prospect?

Complete nonsense

And FYI... yes, he's 100% on pace to break the Panthers rookie receiving record, after a game where our QB looked like he'd get cut from your average HS squad.

KB has the record with 1,008 yards and T-Mac is currently on pace for about 1,150 on the season, so............

Bryce gives it a look but Sanders is draped when he see's him and he saw color with that big DL in front of him. Honestly I'd this is an instance where his small size screws him over since he can't stand tall and try to throw a strike into a tight window.

He tries to make the throw but his feet are planted the wrong direction, doesn't have the separation with his feet, and his body doesn't follow through on the throw because of his feet placement which causes the ball to sail on him.

If it doesn't sail, it hits Sanders in stride

correct, when BY looks, the throw isn't there.   Then he can't see as the play develops into a wide open Saunders in front of him for a relatively easy throw.   2 things prevented that TD.  Bryce getting blind/size issue and Bryce giving up and opting to chunk it into the stands as Saunders get in place for an easy score.

What do people think Dave told Bryce after that play?
