It's gotta suck to have to stare out at a room full of socially inept reporters and talk about how you sucked at your job 17 times in a row. I feel like by December I'd try speaking a different language or something.

At least it's Carolina where they're lobbing you softballs. Still sucks, still awkward, but imagine what it would be like in say NYC or Philly? LOL

What happened to him from end of last season? Where was that Bryce Young?

There's something to play for now. When he was playing well last year we were basically already out of the playoff picture. No pressure and a lot of teams were probably looking past us.

He just looks like a little kid. When he walked onto the field there was no energy, he looked timid. I think he will make a great backup

A great backup where? In one of them indoor leagues?

I mean I don't know why you guys even watch these. There's nothing he can say to make you feel better and whatever he does just makes you hate him more.

He sucks. The head coach sucks, the WRs outside McMillan and Coker suck, the center sucks, every linebacker sucks, Nick Scott sucks, the owner sucks, the DC sucks.

I still like the colors.

Bryce is a garbage time hero. End of season = garbage time of the season. When there's no pressure to perform, he sporadically and very briefly shows flashes of NFL average at best.

    • I am no football savant as has been demonstrated here over and over, but I saw it.  I went for years doing the mock draft thing and researching the players that we might get around our pick, time consuming stuff. And we would get to the draft and trade the pick. All that time, wasted.  So I quit doing that. Also realized I was not a scout and would never be a scout and went to looking the videos and reports After  we picked a guy.  Maybe I would look at the 1st round, but quit that too and just looked after we picked.    When they did that trade I saw Bryce and his size and just ruled him out. Then it got to yeah they are probably going to take him, I relented and looked at some video and got to his pro day. It took me all of a few minutes to see the issues. The footwork. The arm. And the tape of games? The backyard style. I knew, what can I say?  (Also, went down the physical checklist, not a single plus attribute on the NFL level. Arm, speed, size, etc, nothing to offset the negatives. nothing)  I think it was easy for me because I had not watched a single game he played in college, and wasn’t drawn in by the hype. Had no preconceived notions and just looked at it pretty clinically.  I got in here and everyone was going “but look at what he did in college! It is the SEC, if he can do it in the SEC he can do it in the NFL!” Couldn’t reason with hardly anyone.  I don’t think I could tell you which guy would succeed between two prototypical guys with great arms and athleticism, and have no special insight into any of that. My one calling in football scouting was to see the real about what we were about to do. And you still don’t know for sure until they get in a real game in the NFL.
    • Miss Bryce sorely is possibly the most hilarious statement I have read on the Huddle in quite some time.
    • He did only throw 1 pass 20+ in that game. I think he is still struggling to adjust to the NFL. At Alabama he was able to extend plays and play backyard football. That's not only not the style of offense we have been running but his physical skills don't lend themselves to that style of play at this level.  So, the amount of issues he actually has to clean up are WAAAAAY more than I anticipated as a guy that had Bryce #1 on my board in that draft class.  I am just not seeing a reasonable path for him to clean it all up and develop in a reasonable timeframe
