Fly Over: Would this happen or is this fanbase too far removed to care?

The last time this franchise was in this much despair pre Tepper, the rumors of the banner flyover were met by the front office. They quickly worked with the disgruntled fans to quell any potential negative event occurring at the Stadium or TV.

The real question is do we even have enough fans that care to get together behind a movement like this again or is our fan base too far gone that we dont care to revolt like this?

Personally, I still go to games each year no matter how terrible it is, but it has went from something I spent all week looking forward to almost as enjoyable as yearly physical. We can count the blunders this franchise has made in keeping Head Coaches, General Managers and players too long. (Rivera,Rhule, Hurney, Fitterrer).

Team wise we've missed out on Herbert, we didnt trade Burns for 2 1st round picks, we reached by taking Bryce who would have most likely been were we were going to draft anyway, and extended players who constantly underperformed like Ian Thomas. Even when we are gifted a chance like 2 first for Burns that we shouldnt have paid premium, we fumbled a chance to really jump start the franchise.

So this is more to everyone as a whole. How much of your Soul for this team is left? Is it still there that if there was a glimmer of hope, you'd come right back or has the futility of this team negated your love for football completely?

I’m pretty much checked out at this point. Didn’t really get sucked in by the usual pre-season hype and was expecting us to lose early so I’m not shocked by the 0-2 start. Would I show interest again if they turn things around? Sure I would. I love this team and want them to win, but they aren’t worth the headaches they’ve caused over the last 7 years.

I've been checked out for years now because of Tepper.

Thing is you could threaten that and Tepper wouldn't care cause it's not soccer. "I'm convinced he bought the team just for the stadium and to be able to do soccer." lol

I think he did it just to see if he could try an algorithm for running football while watching his investment increase in value while having to do absolutely nothing to be successful. We just happen to be the unfortunate fugs who got stuck with Diamond Dave.

David Tepper is a Hedge Fund guy. If you know anything about money and finance, you know that the owner of a NFL team being a Hedge Fund guy is not good for the fan base.

Tepper will LITERALLY have to go against what made me Billions to turn this franchise around. I dont know if his ego is small enough for him to do that...

You've got to have a huge ego to be a hedge fund guy.

It's the size of the Carolina's.

The Panthers cost him $2.275bn. He's rich, but he didn't buy them just for a run-down stadium to play 'soccer' in.

This is a score for someone. Go through the motions of getting the banner and renting the plane. Leak the news and wait for the buyout offer.

    • Wow that’s actually really cool chatgpt can do that Although, as we know Arizona sat in soft zone the entire second half. So there was a lot of dinking and dunking, but that’s the right thing to do in that situation.  Week 1 pass chart doesn’t look bad. He pushes the ball downfield more than several other quarterbacks I’ve watched. For some reason the huddle thinks other quarterbacks are constantly throwing 60 yard bombs. That is absolutely not the case. Some quarterbacks aren’t taking any deep shots at all.
    • We keep referring to it as Over drafting him like he was really a first round draft pick. We traded up at the end of the first to get him in a deal with Buffalo so that we could grab him and get an extra year on his contract if needed. At the time that sounded like "If he really soars, we can get that fifth year extension automatically". It really probably meant, "We might need five years to really get him up to starting WR speed."  He was basically a second rounder with a potentially meaningless pick as well to pay for those rights. Still, I think that with him we are on the Kelvin Benjamin bubble right now... will he ever be more than just an athlete? Can he really learn to fight and compete for that ball? Can he learn professional routes? Can he handle the fame and more money than he's ever seen in his life? Can he handle all of the pressure a fanbase puts on him? Tough shoes to fill. Not sure I'd want to be in them. I hope he gets it all together soon. A lot, most draftees, can't. Good luck and God bless to the young man. He's got a lot of work to do in a very unforgiving workplace.
    • This is the #1 reason I defend Bryce. Everyone around him is learning on the job, including him. But hey in 3 years we could have a talented offense that grew up together.
