Didn't lose us the game. Made a couple decent throws. Wish he was better, but that is what he is.

Yup, he's a perfect game manager if we can jump out to a sizable lead early.  Today proved that.  In a dog fight or trailing?  I don't think he's the guy to pull it out routinely.

I'd say we were back to the check down teddy days but I don't even think he threw the ball that short so often

If you look at the 2020 charts….even Teddy was somewhat consistently getting it 30+ most weeks.

that helped his check down game and gave all those guys room to set career highs

Bryce is way less threatening than Teddy

Jimmy Clausen was at 5.2 yards per attempt in 2010.

Bryce is currently 5.3

Bryce is way less threatening than my 7 year old but he did show, with the right game plan he could operate

He has been asked to game manage his entire career.  He is the opposite of perfect in that role.  It occasionally happens

It’s a weird year so far with teams playing Big Dime. Bryce is 5.4 YPA (yeah nothing new), Burrow was 5.3, Baker and Nic are 5.5, Hurts is 5.6. Then you have Danny Dimes leading the league at 9.3. I imagine some of these will correct back to normal once the season progresses.

If you go to ESPN profile page for Bryce Young they have his updated YPA for today and a projection. It's not a weird enough year for one of the least physically imposing QB's in the league to only be averaging more yards per attempt than a struggling rookie project.

We are usually trailing, that was my point.  I guess most average NFL QBs can play 'not to lose' when out front with a lead and the defense pitching a shutout.

I said Bryce’s was nothing new. The other ones are definitely weird.

    • I noticed Canales commented on King having a live arm. Weinke coached him and said he could make any throw an NFL team would ask him to make.  His mechanics and general process of throwing looks a little wonky to me though. Haven’t really zoomed in on that though to say more.     Brazzell, his hands look at least decent to me and of course his speed is there.   Love his balance.  Like a cat, always comes down on his feet. Not his butt.
    • If Veabel is the father the name, unfortunately…. well you are looking at Mike Jr.    I feel bad for the husband And the kid though. Especially the kid who had no hand in anything and is just a victim.   Most people would develop some pretty big issues around the chaos of finding out nothing you were told about your father was true and you have been calling the wrong guy Dad.  And trusting your mother, well that is over too.     She should be permanently burned as a reporter or rumor reporter. Whatever she I was.    Who can trust anything she says?   Vrabel has outed himself as a total phony. No credibility whatsoever.
    • My worry is about his concussion. Concussions.  Last thing we need is for him to  be like Jewel. I am looking forward to him benefiting from better players around him in the defense.  Defending QBs under a little more pressure than the last few years.  Better coverage defense in front of him in the middle.
