Give me a tight end who can back yard ball, a slasher at running back, a power back, and two 4.3 receivers with exceptional route running.

Those things are on nearly every team's wish list. There aren't 64 receivers with that kind of speed and route run ing available in the draft and we cant get them here in FA because we spent 100m to have the most expensive line in the NFL to put in front of Bryce.

I dont like how theyve built this offense either but a QB has to be able to elevate the pieces hes got somewhat to be a franchise QB, especially with what we paid for Bryce.

And if we did manage to somehow get all of that, Bryce would need to set every offensive NFL record because our defense would be so devoid of talent they'd never be able to stop a drive.

My comments go back to what I would have done in 2023. That is really when everything veered off of what I thought was good and well. I wanted to keep Wilks, re-sign Darnold and Foreman, and trade down in the draft to take Torrance, Kincaid, Charbonnet, or Mims obviously depending on where they fell. Knowing what was coming the next draft class, that was the prudent thing to do.

I’d still take Warren over Tet, or even Matthew Golden over Tet. Bryce needs guys who get open because right now, no one on this roster creates separation forcing Bryce to be a pinpoint passer which is insane because he’s 5’9. Give me receiving options that create space.

they called him a Mini-Mahomes yet have done nothing similar to what the Chiefs have done to capitalize on those “traits”. It’s absurd. Give me a tight end who can back yard ball, a slasher at running back, a power back, and two 4.3 receivers with exceptional route running.

That’s how you build around what Bryce has done well.

I get what you're trying to say, but I have seen Tetairoa open a plenty and  Hunter Renfrow open a plenty, but Bryce just misses what are supposed to be routine throws. Bryce's arm isn't Mahomes' arm, and he certainly doesn't have the plus mobility (basically the backyard-ball mentality and athleticism to run around until someone's open) and ability to make throws off platform that Mahomes' does.  We also have at least two TEs that get open on the regular, as well as two RBs that can catch and get open as well. Not to mention that Jalen Coker gets open on the regular when in. I just ain't buying that he doesn't have enough weapons. Legette gets open at times as well, not to mention Tremayne. If Bryce would just time his passes better and do it more consistently, it would open up the offense. His issues, at least in my mind, come down to one main thing: his height. He developed consistently bad mechanics over the years to overcome his inability to see the field, and while he got away with it pre-NFL, in the NFL where guys are a little bigger, a lot faster, and more experienced with decidedly more motivation to consistently do their jobs, Bryce is coming up short.

I like Scatt but his style of runner usually doesn't translate to a long standing career in the NFL like Hillis.

Wish him the best though unless against Panthers

Exactly, I can't see anyway this guy is effective for more than a season or two, he's going to end up a very oft injured player.

Not counting Derrick Henry, who was the last RB to have such a physical style that has held up for more than a year or two?

I have seen Bryce make some outstanding throws but what he is up against is even when the WRs get a little separation, that tightens up while the ball is in the air. By degrees depending on the distance. Not as critical on the short stuff.

That’s how you build around what Bryce has done well.

So you're saying you'd still go back and take the inferior talents, just because you think they fit with Bryce better, a player who is more likely than not, to no longer be a Panther next year?

That's just crazy to say, wanting to have a worse player because you think they fit better with your awful QB is just dumb.  You take the best players, if your existing players then aren't good enough, you replace them later.

It's crazy that there are still people with this take after they've seen what T-Mac can do for us in just 5 games so far.

Honestly, Marshawn Lynch is about the only other guy I can think of off the top of my head with a similarly punishing running style who wasn't huge who held up long-term.

The post jumped from a proposed alternate scenario without Bryce and then somehow included Bryce. I got to the end and thought what?
It was a pre coffee thing, most likely.

Skattebo is a fun player that won't be around long but I swear to god the Giants are just trying to set him up with as many goal line TD's as possible to make him appear better than he is.

When I was kid playing Madden, I signed this fat, slow computer generated free agent running back with a low rating and gave him as many goal line TD opportunities as possible to see if his rating would sky rocket or if he would win MVP. That reminds me of what the Giants are doing with Skattebo lol.

Or they're just giving the ball to their best short yardage runner kinda like the Eagles with Hurts. Fantasy football nerds used to always bitch about Cam "stealing" our RBs' TDs but Cam was just our best short yardage runner. I don't think a coach in the hot seat cares much about boosting the signal of a mid-round rookie RB.

Brooks wasn’t better in college than Cam was. Cam literally destroyed everyone they played, including making Texas look like a team of high schoolers.

I only watch Panthers ball, so I don't know.

Hard to believe that since Brooks went first off the board at the and Cam was still sitting there in the fourth round.
