Bryce Young While Trailing Today

Yeah that's one key aspect I'll give him specific credit for is he handled the pressure much better today. Minus the balls thrown into the dirt which if I'm being honest need to stop 35 games into his career.

You know man, I'm starting to wonder if the ground balls when he's under pressure is a Canales thing?  It's not something I see commonly around the NFL, and I wonder if he's been coached to do this, because when he does it, it seems pretty damn methodical.  I'll give him credit for avoiding Intentional Grounding penalties by making sure someone is close enough to the ball.

But but but

Bryce haters can’t even enjoy a win

Bryce played behind 3 subs on the OL--hats off to him and Dowdle.  Hats off to BC, Nijman, and Mays.

Bryce had a TE out, Coker was out, and TMac gave the Cowboys a pick that led to a TD.

Bryce needs a running game.

The DL seems to be coming together.

I think the S play was bad and the LBs are who they are.

I am not a Bryce fan yet, but his last 2 games have me on the fence when I was leaning towards the tar and pitchfork crowd .  hoping for the best.

This narrative has never been true

It was a great win. So fun to watch Rico get his revenge game and make some Panthers history.    But while all fans are soaking that in you get……the Bryce noise ruining it.  Oh yeah, how about that great arm!  He proved everyone wrong!   Check out how he is actually better than Cam and Jake!!!!  And then…..then it’s the Bryce haters are miserable lol.

I can enjoy a win.  Folks trying to manifest Bryce into a great QB every time something positive happens is just whack though and old.  Dudes ceiling is pretty clear at this stage.

Bryce had his best game as a pro today against a solid defense. Hats off to him!

He had a great game but I don’t think we should call Dallas a solid defense, they are ranked 32nd in total defense. I do hope he keeps his turnovers down in the future like he did today. Well done Bryce.

Could be. I just know it's really deflating when we're driving the ball and the run game is working and we need at least a positive pass play and that's the result. But he bounced back from some of that today so that's at least a positive. Although he's got a ton of work to do along with the rest of the team on the road though. That will be the real test IMO. To say it's been bad would be an understatement.

Dallas D is on pace to be worse than our 2024 defense.   We should able to call them horrific when someone claims they are solid.

C'mon man, this is a weird take. Nobody is expecting Bryce Young to play D. And he played well today.  But there are QBs that keep their team in the game whether they get career days from RBs or not. And I hope Bryce can be one of those players, and that is not too much to ask from a QB.

As to the final Miami scoring drive, Rico started it with a 16 yard run and Etienne did have a 12 yard rush in the red zone. It was good complimentary football.

You and I both have watched fans blame a bad drive for the defense on Bryce because the offense had to punt it away. 😛

He's led the team to Ws without 200+ yard rushing performances from the RB room as well, so it feels weird for folks to even ask if he's capable of winning without that. What this team is built for is exactly what you said at the end: complementary football. Dallas averaged 1.6ypc to Carolina's 5.7ypc. In the pass game, Dallas averaged 7.7ypc with Carolina averaging 7.5ypc. 27 first downs to rhe Cowboys 15... that's an offense that put up 21pts, won in the trenches, and gave the defense plenty of rest. Special teams put up 9pts including the game winner and had kickoff returners in fits. Defense gave up 27pts but they made big stops when it mattered and kept Dallas to just 31yds rushing. Complementary football is a consistent winning formula in the NFL.

    • Ehlers needs to sit. Definitely can't lose him to a meaningless game.
    • Bet didn't hit because the referee missed 3 clear corner kicks. I had a 5k parlay that would have been alive tomorrow if he didn't miss those calls as well. Super annoying
    • I don't think it's at all a given that we have players who are good at driving the basket. I guess that depends on your definition. Bridges is 43rd in attempts in the paint Miller is 64th and LaMelo is 66th. We all love to see the lob threat but it's largely miniscule at this point in time. There's gotta be a solution here if LaMelo is to be the centerpiece because this is simply not sustainable if we want to continue to ascend. If he can't drive to the basket then that means we need to add another player to the core who consistently can. That would require moving someone like Miles Bridges. And that's certainly not going to be popular with LaMelo but something has to give here for what we are investing and we need to maximize guys like Miller and Knueppel on rookie deals while we still can. The three chucking is fine when it's working where the issue comes into play is there are no adjustments when it isn't and we just go into a shell and begin to look like the Hornets of yesteryear. That's why the offensive evolution of all involved is critical to us taking the next step. Getting to the play in is nice but we should have our sights set much higher. Right now though they need to take care of business against the Heat. All I ask is that they at least beat those fools. I cannot stand the Heat.
