We have the most expensive offensive line already, and you guys are itching to throw down for the 30th ranked T per PFF?  I don't know guys.  You do you.

I think if you do make this move you have to get younger and/or cheaper at the QB position.

Slow down there Gettleman. Took us ten years to get the line in this state and you’re trying to blow it up. Fug a PFF.

It took about 2-3 seasons to be honest.  Honestly the Moton extension is what makes the Icky extension potentially questionable.  It's about how much of the pie is left for the rest of the team if every lineman is highly paid.

back to back 200 yard rushing games with half our OL out i think we are seeing some results bro

People are acting like we've "arrived" and if one is a longtime Panthers fan they should know better than that. We're running all over bad defenses. Certainly fun to watch. But the real test will be when we face better defensive units and we have to create a consistent passing offense. That's the biggest question mark. And that's where we need to see the biggest result from our investment in the OL and QB.

We have arrived. People want Foxball because .500 is better than .300. You've seen how many people on here pine for Steve Wilks like a .500 record is something to strive for.

Like I said I can appreciate it's fun to watch and it's certainly better than the alternative. If we had actually seen more consistency from Bryce and the OL in the passing game I would feel better about the question of sustainability. But for now it's the elephant in the room. Still. I appreciate what the guys on the OL and Rico Dowdle are doing for the run game. That's going to make just about any QB better by default in the short term.

Are you saying what we have been watching is the suffering we must go through to get the ring?
How long has that been going on now?

Do you feel like if we just continue the dues paying we will be rewarded?

To me this like when you are getting tortured and you finally get to where you are begging someone to just kill you to make it stop hurting.

I’ll take a couple of blowouts a year for and against and the rest .500 competitive, football that is at least watchable over what they have given us for the better part of 7 years now.
They have killed my spirit.  It is like you are chasing the hot chick and keep getting your heart broken when if you would just accept the butterface that treats you right, your life would be so much better.

No, you don't need seven years of suffering. You need competence. Then things fall into place relatively quickly. Some people have standards higher than "let's not suck, but just barely."

Believe it or not, some teams have winning seasons regularly. It is possible.

I would say you have a higher threshold for poo football than I do. I was at the just make it stop point in 2022. These last three years with the exception of the past two weeks have been misery.

I remember the Panthers being fairly regular winners in a couple of stretches. Long ago.

    • Didn't  see this posted (since 2023) but since folks have been posting that you can't judge a draft class for three years (a ridiculous take), I thought I'd post this to see what people thought about the 2023 draft. Unfortunately this may not be the most interesting class to do this with but I do quite like retrospective draft grades. Would appreciate other's takes on this (and other recent) draft classes.   1(1) - Bryce Young QB: I am a bigger Bryce Young apologist than most (maybe all). I like the kid. But there is no way around it: This was a terrible pick. If he had been picked in the 4th or even the 3rd round I would feel pretty good about it. But this was the first overall pick that we gave up two firsts, our best offensive player to get.  GRADE: C -    2(39) - Jonathan Mingo WR: not much to say here here. He was here for two years. His yards per catch are on par with Bryce's yards per pass. Rough stuff. To date he has still never scored a touchdown in the NFL GRADE: F   3(80) - DJ Johnson OLB: a pick I hated as soon as it happened and an example of why the premise of this thread is honestly dumb. This was a bad pick when it happened. Most people knew it.  Then came training camp and he did not look good. Then came the preseason which confirmed what we saw in TC. Then came the season which confirmed what we saw in preseason. To date, he has half a sack in his career. GRADE: F 4 (114) Chandlers Zavala G: Honestly the best pick of this draft which really speaks to how awful this draft is. Other than Bryce, the only pick still on the team. He is mostly average or below average depth which in round 4 is not terrible. But he had a pff score of 43.5 and though I think people have unrealistic expectations for draft picks, I still would want a little more from a fourth round pick GRADE: C+   5 (145) - Jammie Robinson S: I liked the pick when it happened but ended up being a disappointment. He logged 1 tackle with the falcons last year and not enough snaps to get a grade on PFF.  GRADE: F OVERALL DRAFT GRADE: F
    • You gonna make me post Stank before every game?  I kid, I kid.
