Bryce needs to play the NFL game. That is the job. Can he do it or not do it?

Very fair point.  I guess when Bryce get's to play spreadout, that works for him, but Canales won't do that because it's not going to hold up for a 17 game season.

To me, this has always been a make or break year for Bryce.  Year 3, you need to know what you have.  We just don't have a full time, starting NFL QB.  I will hedge that on the fact that he's only 24 years old.  It's a small hedge, maybe just a shrubbery at this point since Bryce has had three full training camps as QB1.

I guess I'm struggling with the balance between patience and performance.  My desire is to be patient since he's 24, but he's also had plenty of time to improve.  I just don't want to use send him off for peanuts and watch him reach his potential elsewhere.

I understand the sentiment that you don’t want to drop him and get burned.
I say he needs to definitively prove himself and we have plenty of games left for him do that.
As far as him burning us, he won’t get near the rope elsewhere that he has gotten here so if he is going to burn us he will need to do it definitively at his new place, which is really the same thing I am asking for.

As much as I think he has no shot, that possibility does exist.  I would think of it like this.  If he does somehow turn his career own elsewhere.  It was never going to happen in this organization with these people running it.  We need a guy with batteries included.  And new a coaching staff.

Tough to be patient when we've seen zero flashes of greatness from him.

We see the occasional flash of competence.

He was literally sold as a galaxy brained, pro-ready QB.

He's been none of those things and molly-coddled for three years.

I would say he has made some really good throws over the years, but the inconsistency even within a game makes it hard to believe he can ever put it all together

He was also sold as the highest floor, lowest ceiling of the top 3 as well, and so far, the floor has been a basement apartment in Venice.

That is the biggest thing, his floor is Andy vs Buffalo bad and he has not raised it to where we know we won’t see that again. We have seen it opening the season three years running.
His ceiling is Dallas, but that hasn’t happened but a small handful of games in 2.5 years.

And he has yet to show that if a decent team shuts down our run game they will pay.

I think he needs to show that in these remaining games or we should move away from him.

Saints benched Rattler and keep indicating they want to go elsewhere with QB position, I'd trade for him for a shot of youth and some QB competition if he could be had for a good price.

Rattler 2025 stats: 8 Games, 68% Completion, 1,586 Yards, 8 TDs, 5 INTs, 6.2 Y/A, 5.94 AY/A, 18 Sacks

Young 2025 stats: 7 Games, 62% Completion, 1,288 Yards, 11 TDs, 5 INTs, 5.8 Y/A ,5.73 AY/A, 11 Sacks

    • Aaron Donald's brother. He's a QB.
    • To be fair, Tyson is a well-rounded route runner, has good speed and great separation. I think of him as a taller JSN with the same wiggles and ability to play outside or in the slot. He would be a great cherry on top to our young WR corps between TMac and Coker.  He might not be a burner, but his short area quicks and ability to turn DBs around with ease is appealing.  Personally, I think it's a luxury pick and hope we go elsewhere. I think Dan and Dave do as well.  I also think DJ is one of the most respected draft analysts in the league. He has his fingers on the pulse, especially front office whispers, in addition to the draft prospects themselves. He's always been very fair to the Panthers, and IMO, covers them better than the Shultzes and Kipers of the football world. He also went to App St. Depending on how the board falls, Tyson could technically be seen as BPA at 19. Dude was and still is a top-10 selection despite a rough 2025 season at ASU. Our WR unit is not a complete room yet, so it's not that outragious if we truly are looking BPA.  Me personally, I want OT, LB, DT or FS at 19. In DJ's scenario, I'd take any of Faulk, Woods, Lomu or Allen. I personally like the Texas LB more than Allen, and think he's a better compliment to Wallace, but Allen does give me Jon Beason vibes, so wouldn't be mad there either.
