Yeah, Rozeboom is clearly at his best when he is just told to do one thing and he doesn't need to think. Just tell him rush ___ gap or cover ___ zone and do not give him anything more to think about than that

He is so hit or miss.  He completely ran by that WR on the screen play in the backfield.  He also just falls over if he misses a tackle.

He was plug and play for run defense and has done a very good job setting the edge.  Throw in his motor which you yourself complimented and he will develop into a more complete player who can pass rush.  Him playing great is one of the reasons our defense is playing so much better than last year.  Wonnum and Scourton are setting the edges and DB is eating up the interior.

If you are just watching stats for production Abdul Carter only has .5 sacks while Scourton has 2.  Few people are doubting what Carter can do with his high win %.

James Anderson had motor. That doesn’t mean he’s going to develop into anything. It just means at the end of the day he can be a pile jumper.

the defense is playing better compared to last season because brown and horn are healthy. We’re two weeks removed from Buffalo running all over us wherever they wanted. Was he setting the edge there too? The only thing that stopped Jacobs yesterday was lafleur.

In don’t have an opinion on Abdul carter and I’m indifferent about what some dorks at pff think his win % is

I get he’s a rookie I don’t expect him to set the world on fire, but I don’t notice him either and I’d like to think I’m a little better at watching football than just the casual observer looking at stats. “You gotta know the game, man” isn’t a very convincing argument.

The only big surprise to me was Rozeboom. Definitely had a decent game, but surprised to see just how high they rated him.

Looking like Morgan did really well in FA and the draft this year.

Rozeboom played like a man possessed yesterday. I hope this was the game that sets the tone for the rest of his career here.

One team has their way with us vs every team last year. Scourton has been a nice surprise his run defense was always his strength. He is still young and raw as a pass rusher. Remember people were watching box scores and complaining about DB his early years too.  I watched him collapse his side of the pocket several times yesterday. Of course you won’t see that in the box score.

There are plenty of things to complain about. Our 2nd round rookie edge has not been one of them IMO, but you do you.

Plenty of people were wrong about DB and I wasn’t one of them.

That throw is atrocious... Wind or not, the "spiral", ugh.  I wish he could become consistent throwing the ball.

That thing was wobbling like someone put a tire on their car and didn't tighten the lug nuts all the way.

Wind has nothing to do with it.

Velocity on tap solves that poo. You don’t always have to use it, in fact you are best not using much sometimes. But when you need to cut through the wind, you keep it low and send it hard. Like a hooded 2 iron.

lol oh wow you found a bad rep from a rookie. I stand corrected he clearly has been bad all year judging by this single rep. Point taken.

    • Roger all that. Do you think BY avoided any sacks last game? This oline is not what you're touting them to be. They are much better then 2023! Much much much better than 2023. But come on now, you'd expect this expensive oline (most are run blocking specialist) to at least dominate in the run game every game.  And... I keep telling you our WRs and TEs are not that good yet. I mean last Sunday was a prime example. Our receiving targets never make plays like those. Never. And this is from one of the worst teams in the league. Shough could have easily had 3 INTs if not for his receivers making plays on the ball. Our guys just don't do that. XL almost allowed an INT backing up out of bounds instead of coming to the ball. And everyone would have blamed that on BY. That's why he doesn't throw to that dude. I can't recall a game except maybe the second Falcons game - maybe, where I thought our receivers could possibly be better than the other team's. I think TMac and Coker have a lot of potential. But they're aren't consistent. But they're young and WILL improve. I'm confident of that.  I don't agree that BY was drafted to only stand in the pocket. He has always been best off schedule - for better or worse.
    • Do you think you will get a direct answer?  Icky giving up 5 pressures (playing hurt in his defense) by himself and Bryce only getting sacked once tells you he played well in the pocket.  He extended plays and converted some tough downs.
    • I've been very apprehensive about potentially firing yet another head coach. But Canales needs to focus on being a head coach first and foremost and begin handing off some responsibilities like playcalling duties and begin overseeing the entire team or we need to assess all possible ideal HC candidates in the offseason.
