oh is this what bryce defenders have been reduced to?

you're correct; I cannot tell the future. But I can see what's going on and through deduction and just understanding how things work I can say that Bryce isn't an appealing reclamation project for all of the reasons he never should have been drafted.

I mean yes it's possible the jets could roll the dice on him like they did after the Broncos cut The Golden Calf of Bristol but if that's where we're at with Bryce's post Carolina career then what are we even talking about

I have a working theory that part of the reason Hooker and White are no longer around is because they were showing up Young in practice.

They can actually zip the ball - Dalton and Young can't. It will have stood out like a sore thumb.

That jives with my theory of why we don’t have a younger backup that can push him, though not so much because the players see it but because the fans would make a fuss. 
Imagine right now if there were one of those on the roster….

He isn't the long-term answer under center in Carolina. The 2023 first overall pick completed 68 percent of his passes Sunday, but for a paltry 125 yards with an interception. It was the fifth time in 10 games that he has failed to eclipse 150 passing yards."

Stat Line: 17 of 25 for 124 yards, an interception and fumble lost

Without a strong run game, Bryce Young and the rest of the Carolina Panthers became exposed.

Young wasn't asked to do much when Carolina won four of its previous five contests—Andy Dalton actually started the game which the team lost. Instead, the Panthers leaned heavily on running back Rico Dowdle.

Dowdle averaged 2.9 yards per carry against the Saints, which placed a heavier burden on Young. The quarterback didn't respond.

"I think we were just putting our eyes in the right place, doing our job and just making sure our technique was right," Saints defensive back Alontae Taylor told reporters. "I think Demario [Davis] did a really good job with just bringing everybody in after almost every series and just making sure that we just did our assignments. And I think we did that, and I think it showed up."

The Saints were ready for the Panthers' offensive approach, and Young failed to make New Orleans pay.

He’d be an upgrade for sure ( so would just about anyone else) but I doubt Houston lets him walk. They seem to have reservations about Stroud and want a solid backup. Unlike our approach because we don’t want to hurt the lil guy’s feelings.

      Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.

      I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
