Your chart confirms what I noticed yesterday. No real success passing the ball in the middle of the field. Everything is pretty much confined to the area outside the numbers and hashmarks. I didn't realize he only completed 2 passes that were 10 yards beyond the LOS until you mentioned it in an earlier post.

BTW, where did you get this chart?

click on charts on the top.  it will do WR routes, RB runs, and QB passes

They were not happy after a 450 yard passing game, why do you think they'd be happy now?

They're not happy when we win 30-0, because Bryce didn't throw for 400 yards.

They're not happy when we win on the last drive, because that means we were losing earlier (???).

They're not happy when Bryce completes 75% of passes, records 230+ total yards, 3 TDs, 0 turnovers and outduels the MVP favorite because we ran the ball a lot.

They will literally never be happy. They would be happier if we were 0-13.

We're not happy because we're facing having to pick up a 5th year option or an extension and still have NO IDEA who Bryce is as a QB. He has great moments, but he has yet to put together back to back great games. We haven't had back to back winning seasons in 30 years, so asking for back to back franchise QB game performances from your QB isn't a whole hell of a lot to ask for.

PJ Walker had great moments.  Great moments can be found for nickel and half eaten bag of potato chips.

Seriously. My god enjoy the win over a legitimate Super Bowl contender and just shut the fug up. You don’t always have to try to be the smartest person in the room. As far as I know no one on this board has ever sniffed an NFL front office m.

The Saints game is what really concerned me. We were playing a 1-8 at home and they were starting a rookie QB. Bryce played one of the worst games I've seen him play. Those type of performances (and the one in SF last Monday) are why most of us are not on board with extending him, or even picking up the 5th year option.

If we weren't facing the 5th year option this off season I would be able to enjoy this more from a fan's perspective. I don't trust the FO, and by that I mainly mean Dave and Nicole, to make the right move for this organization moving forward. It's been 8 years of suckage and I don't want to get locked into another 5 because of a couple of feel good wins that end up being a mirage and not reality. And is that Bryce's fault? Not entirely. It's really just a history of Tepper and the FO doing really dumb things.

Yes sir. And sometimes they'll even have a graph with a distribution of where the ball was thrown: to the left, to the right or over the middle. I feel that I've noticed a trend with Bryce in terms of how he attacks the field.

I want to know if the analytics back me up or if I'm just imaging things.

NFL Next Gen Stats

I have a spreadsheet I made of all the data for his career for everything up to the past 2-3 games.

I've watched this highlight several times.  So many people want to criticize Young because he's doesn't throw down the field very much.  However, if you watch this highlight and focus on the ball placement, It's a perfect throw.  He leads Hubbard perfectly.  He hits him in stride.  He's full speed in a moment.

If he throws it too far in front he probably doesn't catch it or loses his balance enough that he gets tackled.   Too far behind and he has to slow down a bit and doesn't get up to speed in time to score.

Bryce pinpoints a perfect throw, and Hubbard blows by everyone and scores.

It was a great play.

It's the redundant threads that are a bit tiresome. If there is a real separate issue that should be discussed about Bryce, I have no issue with multiple threads but this is all like the exact same poo.

100% different titles same silly arguments just merge them all sticky it abd delete any new ones that aren't a wholly different topic

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
