O-line is legitimate

We have a great WR, they have a great WR

We have a young and ceiling is high TE

They had Anthony Richardson, we have Bryce Young

 

We need Canales to have the gall like Steichen and let leadership know that Bryce ain't that guy and work his talents with a mid tier QB like Daniel Jones to get game manager level production

Canales is a wet noodle. If he had the backbone to demand a legitimate #2 we would already have a 'serviceable QB' on the team. He was more than happy to come into the year with Dalton and Plumber? this year. Either he thought any of that was serviceable or he didn't care.

Dude is friends with his GM and still couldn't get 1 playable backup at QB. There are reasons why one of those coaches is trending in the right direction and the other is going from .500 to talking about if there should be a year 3 soon.

Me and a good friend of mine talked about this last night. All it really will take is a “average QB” and Dan just doing in the offseason what he has been doing to make us  actually competitive.

The defense is NOT legitimate. I think we have schemed well against some teams, but this team has real problems on defense. We are further behind on defense than offense in terms of competing, which sounds insane given our lack of offensive production, but its true. Get a QB that can complete intermediate and long passes routinely and the offense opens up, but it forces other teams to throw deep too, and we can't stop that poo. No pass rush, no backers that can cover tight ends, and only 1 corner (who got roasted yesterday).

" defense is legit" isn't right to me. We have almost zero pass rush in most of our games. And they're still prone to giving up big chunk plays at any time, especially on 3rd and longs.

Considering the Colts dont have a 1st round pick for the next 2 years, they practically have to sign him. Either that or roll with Anthony Richardon again.

The D is still rebuilding - it was bereft of talent last year.

I'd be happy to buy very low on Richardson, like a 5th round pick, but I'd absolutely sit him next year and work on his footwork. 

Lord knows what the Colts are going to do with him - they've already ruined him.
