Are they really? Anyone got links to any sources or is this just wishful thinking?

I would rather have Stroud. I don't think he is the Texans problem and I think he is being wasted there. The moves they have made after his rookie year leads me to think they may be dumb enough to dump him to try and save their jobs. Even then, it shouldn't be a thing. I don't see the same situation as with the Jags with a first year HC.

I would bite their hand off if they look to move Stroud.

Holy crap you aren't kidding. 15% drop rate, only a 50% catch rate. What's going on with him?  Approximately the same targets per game but a huge drop in production... I haven't really paid any attention but that's an insane drop off.

He has had a shoulder injury the entire season. Probably should not be playing at all.

Trevor has regressed at an alarming speed. You can see Coen visibly frustrated with him during games. Reminds me of Steichen on the sidelines with AR.

I will admit that Trevor, although a definite upgrade, would be 100x more infuriating because he literally has zero reason to be as bad as he is. He has almost every elite box checked outside athlete and brain.

He doesn't tick the accuracy box and didn't in College either.

That's not really a physical attribute. That's purely part of the "brain" aspect is what I mean.

There is no physical reason that he cannot throw an accurate pass.

Close. I am not convinced Stroud is close to their issues. That's the kind of QB to jump on if it's a bad team doing something dumb tho. Maybe the only trade I would be open for a QB.

Overpaying for Jones would be a trade and that would be lightspeed stupid.

Also, there isn't a dramatic difference between the New England, Jacksonville and SF versions of Mac Jones. The biggest differences are Kyle Shanahan and the SF roster versus the poo he had with New England and Jax.

Everything Tepper does is lightspeed stupid and I agree that this would be yet another, stupid move.

Caserio is a smart personnel guy. They aren't going to be moving on from Stroud unless he collapses the rest of this year and next year too. I don't think they will hesitate at all to pick up that 5th year option this offseason. AR will definitely not get picked up and I wouldn't be surprised to see us pass on the 5th too.

Is he tho? Moments sure but the last 2 years has me asking if that is really true. They let the oline weaken and their QB has been struggling. Seems like they pulled a harder Ron and focused on the D when they had a young QB to lean on.

Yeah, it’s big. He was playing scared of contact and with really bad hands.  And the Jags around Trevor have let him down in some big moments.  Trevor is sort of consistent IMO in his inconsistency.   He has been Trevor.   Biggest problem is the Jags primary WR didn’t show up this year.

I keep tabs on the Jags.  Trevor is no different than what they paid for.  I’d trade BTJ.

Look at his draft and free agency history. He is significantly better than any GM in Panthers history. Low bar, for sure, but there is a reason New England really didn't want him to get away.
