I am and have been a Bryce detractor, but I literally was thinking about this today.  As fun as it is to say “I was right,” as a Panthers fan, more than anything else, I want to win.  If Bryce could magically finally figure it all out and go on a legit, seemingly otherworldly run and we maximize our potential, I will happily eat all the crow that can be eaten and be ECSTATIC!

The thing is, I feel like last Sunday validated what I have been saying about Bryce.  And this is why I'm somewhat optimistic.

He isn't a good QB, let me make that clear before the brigade storms into this thread, but the biggest difference between Bryce before last week and Bryce in the second half of last season was his lack of confidence and willingness to make plays downfield.  Last week was the first time this season he's had that "F It" mentality, the same he had when he came back last year when he just looked and played care-free (in a good way; he had a positive energy).  We need him to keep that energy the rest of the season because if he does, we can win games.

It ain't always about being good.  Hell Jameis Winston isn't good (better than Bryce, but still), but he plays with such a confidence that his teams always have a chance.

If Bryce is down to be as aggressive as he was last week, I think the opportunities will be there against a weak and injured 49ers defense.

We're banged up, they're banged up.

Their stars available are better than our stars available.

To win this one, it's going to have to be a gameplan a lot like we used against Green Bay... drag them down into the mud with us and see who has the ball when it gets to the end.

This is really a 50/50 pick 'em game IMO

The reason why I'm leaning the Panthers?  I think an argument can be made that we have the best OL, running game, and defense on the field today.

That is usually a recipe for winning football games, especially on the road.

On the other hand, Shanahan is a phenomenal coach and the 49ers have been in this spot countless times.  I don't even think we had a TNF game last year, so for Canales and many players, this is the biggest spotlight they will have played in as an NFL athlete.  On top of that, the injuries at the LB position could be a big problem against this offense that loves to attack that area of the field.

With vegas, it is always

coach plus qb plus injuries  that sets the spread

the 49ers have the advantage in all of those plus homefield

the spread is large

that said, the Panthers need to learn how to prepare and play off their usual schedule, on the road, against a quality opponent  in a national game that matters

Vegas isnt wrong often

i sincerely hope they are wrong this time

between tonight’s game and the game against  the Rams, who i believe ate superbowl bound, we will learn a lot about Young and Canales

i really want to be wrong about Bryce   I really do.

How do you feel right now? Good vibes or bad? Playoff race is tightening up and we are still in the mix. With our linebackers out, can we handle CMC and Kittle? Are you in "just don't embarrass us mode" or lets "kick ass and take names" mode? First national T.V game in a long time.

What you got?

Don't laugh, but we have a 50/50 chance.  We have the players and coaches to beat any team.  The attitude of the players is a concern to me.  If they get high and mighty attitude, they will not win.  If they keep their wits about them and play ball like professionals they are then a win is theirs to have.

I hope the confidence level is high without the 'better than you' attitude.

Twas the night before the game,
And all through the QC,
No one was stressing,
Not even Jaycee

The graphic was there,
With Panthers in the hunt,
All the fans were just praying,
that we wouldnt constantly punt,

All of the sudden,
there rose such a humm,
Why it was 5 giant lineman,
and a tiny Bryce Young,

He slung from his right,
Against a box that was stacked,
And there on a deep crosser,
He found A TMac

Brown moved a lineman,
with the greatest of ease,
This ginormous man was able,
To do whatever he please.

Then in the fourth,
We watched Rico Run,
And a Sprinkle chuba,
From the hands of tiny Bryce Young,

Away he did kneel,
As the clock rang at zero,
Finally a primetime win,
And tiny Young was the hero.

I'm sold.  I put 20 on us to win lol.

Underdogs have actually been cooking on prime time this season.  I don't have the numbers for November, but in October, underdogs were 13-6 ATTS on prime time, with 9 of the 13 underdogs winning outright.
