Bryce might be the most frustrating player we've ever had.

I get it, but objectively speaking I'm not even sure Bryce is the most frustrating player on our current roster.

That honor goes to Xavier Legette 😖

The entire offense rises or falls with Bryce. XL may be our most frustrating receiver but Bryce is Jekyll and Hyde.

He's the scariest player we've ever had.

He's absolutely dogshit, but once or twice a season he bumbles into a decent start and you're left terrified that the owner is going to press the GM into activating his 5th year option.

It's no way to live.

I'll take Jekyll and Hyde over just Hyde.

If they touched the ball and equal amount of times a game, I could see the argument. But Bryce, being the overall #1 and a QB savant, never having back to back complete games looking like a franchise QB is about as frustrating as you can get year 3. He does what he does in ATL and the week before did what he did vs NO. XL can be benched, Bryce can't. Dalton is worse by a country mile.

This is where we get into the distinction of "better player" vs "more important position".

Bryce doesn't frustrate me as much as he just plain mystifies me. I sometimes feel like I have no idea what I'm seeing. I do however think it's fair to label him as "overachieving" in the context of our season.

Legette? He frustrates me because I know what he ought to be capable of, but then I see what he actually does.

It all depends on what frustrates you. Bryce frustrates me more because as he goes, generally the team goes. For what he advertised to be, he just hasn't delivered. 2 1sts, 2 2nds and DJ Moore, and we jettisoned Darnold who was beginning to find his way, for the results we've gotten. We paid a fortune for a Lamborghini, and we've gotten a Ford Taurus.

XL to me was always a college one hit wonder so my expectations were never high. What we're getting is actually along the lines of what I expected. Not as many boneheaded in game decisions obviously, but I didn't expect him to contribute much if at all really. We've seen too many of these projects too many times before. They are what they are.

Sorta where I'm at as well. Bryce has amazing anticipation and can make some insane throws. But the body of work overall resembles Taylor Heinecke on his best days. Which is fine but it's not what you paid for.

My basic criteria:

Bryce overachieves...

Legette underachieves...

From that standpoint, it's an easy decision.

This year he is on par with Bo Nix which is better than last year.  Bryce barely beats him in YPA and completion % but has 1 less TD with a lower rating.  He is also one year younger than Bo.  Both players seem streaky and can win but still have a way to go in development.

12 Mil would literally be the 6th highest paid center in the NFL. He is a backup. He is on a $3.4 mil deal and his utility might get him slightly more than that with us specifically but that's about it. If someone wants to pay him $6-8 mil, I would let him walk in an absolute heartbeat. For that price, get one of the good free agent centers available. Or, just simply draft another utility lineman. I like Mays well enough and would love to keep him but he isn't a long term starter and we shouldn't be paying him like one.

Ikey I am honestly unsure of the market on him. It could be wild or it could be less painful. Given what we have had to pay Brown and Horn recently, I suspect the Panthers bump means we need to open up the pocket book. That will hurt, no question about it.

The QB I hope they just throw some darts at the board and not go bananas. But the situation has to be improved.

Yea I nearly there with you, plus I don't have a great feel on Mays. I know there's a graph out there that shows wins and loss with without Mays, Panthers are nearly .500 with Mays starting. I think less than 10 and I could see him with this insane market. The market could be hot for him, he can play either OG spot too.

Icky is a dang near must and Im not his biggest fan or nothing. He's still 25 with 4 full years of investment along with the 6th overall. Its just sooo hard to find a decent-good-great-elite LT and Icky is a elite run blocker and decent-good pass blocker. You just have to pay him or tag for 2 years. Hopefully like the other OLmen and being he's from NC, he wants to stay here.

Its still farr too early for draft talk, but I already have what I feel is the plan as of this date(my plan)-

1- edge

2- QB

3- MLB

4- edge

5- QB

5- Safety

6- MLB

Brother, remember that BC talk this past offseason? Just trust me on Mays. He isn't a long term starting caliber C.

I wouldn't put a position on the rounds yet. That is too myopic. Just build a good draft board and play it out. Big moves should only happen for big reasons.

Roger that, one good part of Christ's injury is he should come back on the cheap for 26. You maybe right and I have over valued Mays too, still Im few millions below sportac(I feel 8ish)- https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/market-value/_/id/77076/cade-mays

If they are keeping lewis and hunt, provided they are healthy, dang near anyone will look good at C.

I think Corbert is coming back as well, unless he is on the "only starting" deal.

Yea, faaaaarrrrr too early for draft stuff, but I feel strongly that the Panthers need to double down on the QB and edge market. That's with the growth of Nic and prince. Pat Jones is under contract, but missing time with a back mean he's a total unknown, as in the Brooks group...you can not count on him.

I was wrong about DJ too, hes been the biggest let down for me this year.

Thus they need edge, not going to post my 287th BY post, if he's here or not, they need young comp.

Right now the nerds are saying great-good edge class,  still too early and teams always overdraft them too.
