while I hate bend but don't break defenses... the D was in a spot for the INT because of the soft shell coverage

No, Baker and his receiver weren’t on the same page and Baker threw it at Ransoms feet, which he caught. I’ll take it all day everyday. It wasn’t some master defensive alignment that fooled Baker. He just threw it when he shouldn’t have.

I agree. Big picture with 2 games still to go this season has been a success.  The o has improved. We have a legit alpha ( tmac) and solid contributors behind him - horn, Coker. Evans looks like a solid te.

Out d has improved dramatically over last year. Ransom and scourton look to be legit starters for years to come.

We still need improvement from the qb, and we still need a sideline to sideline ilb and more depth everywhere. Canales also needs to be a better playcaller or get an actual oc and I won't be sad if evero leaves this offseason.

But if you told me at the beginning of the year that in the middle of December we'd be at 8 wins, atop the division with a real shot at the playoffs and division title then I would take that 11 out of 10 times.

That being said I'm a pessimist so I fully expect to lose the last 2 games and tb sneaks into the playoffs over us.

But overall this season shows we're on the right path

I may regret these words.

I think Dave beats Seattle this week because they overlook us, and Tampa loses last second to the Dolphins.

Can totally see everyone being confused when announcers say Panthers win NFC South and everyone thinking the week 18 game matters.

Can also see none of that happening and the NFL making us and Tampa the SNF game week 18.

A couple things I think, first Sea can’t and Won’t over look us. We beat Two teams who are currently battling for the overall number one seed in the NFC. Mike McD is a super prepared coach there’s just no way with them still battling for first overall a home game a bye they’d overlook one out of two opportunities to get that.

I know we’re hard as ever on our own team I mean we’re on a message board criticizing them daily but honestly we’re a crazy tough out. We as we’ve seen can beat Sea Sam has been having a lot of Sam moments. Some good some bad a pick or a fumble can swing this whole game. Also our offense can move up and down the field on anybody I know we kill Bryce every other week deservingly but we can drive down the field and score what seems like whenever we need to unless Dave go into one of his silly Dave mode. We’re winning this game I see us setting the tone for the playoffs.

John,

If you re-watch that play, it looks like the receiver made the mistake. He was running across the field to Baker's left, stopped and pivoted to to Baker's right. He released the ball as if was expecting the receiver to keep running left toward the sideline. As soon as I saw that play my first thought was "the receiver wasn't where he was suppose the be".

I don't think Baker was fooled by some master defensive scheme either. The receiver would have had an easy completion if he had run the correct route.

That's what I saw.  It was a miscommunications.  It happens more than people think and the QB tends to get the blame even when he was probably making the right read.  It's just so much of a team sport.

Exactly, but when Baker drew back to throw the ball his receiver was going in the opposite direction and he threw it 5 yards behind him. Baker knew it was on him.

At that point I dont think they were running routes. They were doing imrpov. They were covered and this was the reaction. They weren't on same page.
