He's just not a starting NFL QB......Solid backup? Maybe

Until people accept that then this team goes nowhere.

Kyle Shanahan and Lynch leveraged HEAVY to get Trey Lance, realized he sucked and not a starting caliber QB, cut ties, built a team.  Consistently being a competitor and thats what its suppose to look like.  Stop trying to fit a square peg into a round whole, not going to work. Cut your losses and move on.......

What's crazy is that there are still people saying  "he's making progress""🤣🤣🤣 This is year 3 and his footwork is still bad!

Technically…. He is making progress. Just imagine where we will be in another three years.

His 3rd year is complete. Unless they trade him or cut him and he has a bit of time to sit behind a better QB and work on those things it's never going to happen. It's not an offseason timeframe thing.

It's who he is and who he has always been. Just get a better QB, with his level of play it's not a very difficult task.

The only progress he’s made is that he’s not quite the turnover machine he used to be. He doesn’t look radically different than his rookie year.

TO's/GM

2025: 0.94

2024: 0.92

2023: 1.00

One of the most consistent aspects of his career is that he is roughly a 1 TO/GM QB. His Int% has gone up from 1.9% to 2.3% over his career.

His actual only real points of improvement are Completion Percentage(career high) and Passing YPG(career high).

His now new career high is 188.2/GM.

Still can’t get over his 15passes for 54yards in game against Seattle.

He has 4 games this season of 200 or more yards passing.

He has 6 games this season of 150 or less yards passing. I can check but I bet that may possibly lead the league.

    • Bill Polian and Bill Lekas on Chalk Talks SiriusXM radio this morning.  Polian needs to retire (again). First he talks about Andy Dalton as our backup and then suggests trading down to get Sadiq. Clueless. At least he brought up the hole losing Ashawn Robinson caused.
    • And you know this how? Stay in your lane, junior. I'm pretty sure I'm a lot older than you, am a whole lot more experienced with life, and have watched football in earnest probably longer than you've been alive. I agree, but I was talking directly about injuries. As far as the economics, I'm assuming that Moton would have to take a pay cut and would probably be compelled to if he wants to stay in Charlotte. He seems like a thoughtful and practical guy. He knows that he's getting older and realizes the nature of the business. Hell, last time there were were questions on whether he would be here the last season. Dan and Brandt were dialing up the pressure. I don't think they're going to go into any type of contractual extension discussions without having a backup plan--i.e., a person that will appear to be Moton's replacement. And, to be honest, that person may be Moton's replacement depending how things go. But, I get the impression that Moton wants to be in Charlotte (unless he's developed some undying desire to chase a championship somewhere else).
    • It would be pretty fun with something like this. 3 on 3 the first 5 minutes, 2 on 2 the next 5 minutes (after a stoppage), then 1 on 1 (after a stoppage) the rest of the way. I just feel like this would be equal parts entertaining and chaos to watch
