Did TMac Win OROY?

Canales has been the #1 thing holding us back this year, and I say that as one of the biggest Bryce bashers on here.

I’ve been saying it even since we shut the Falcons out, I started a thread after that one calling out my issues with Canales and his playcalling and it got poo’d into oblivion.

He's not creative and he thinks he can always trick the defense, but in the end just calls terrible plays because of it.  I don’t think Bryce is a legitimate starting QB in this league, but Canales is even less of a legitimate HC than Bryce is as a starting QB.

I strongly disagree we know yet if canales is a good HC or not.

I do agree we know he isn't a good HC/OC combo though.

50/50 between him and Jeanty. He has a good game against LA though and it's 100% his.

No, voting is done before the playoffs start, so he could have 350 yards and 8 TDs next week and it wouldn't matter.

True. But then who is to credit? Evero? Bryce?

Somebody won 8 games

Honestly I don't think there is any one player or coach, it's been a season of different things in most weeks to get us there, and honestly sometimes it was just luck in the end that won a game, that happens too.

Sometimes it was the other team overlooking us and expecting an easy win and it biting them in the ass.  Sometimes it was someone on offense or defense having themselves a game.  Sometimes it was the defensive gameplan and execution.   And sure, Canales did have himself a well called game or two this year that helped us get a win, but it was few and far between and was probably more a blind squirrel finding a nut than showing his true ability.

Jeanty is 7th in odds

I honestly don't understand why, other than his season not living up to expectations and/or the Raiders being the worst team.

He had over 1,300 yards and 10 TDs, that's not the 7th best rookie in a year like this, personally I think he probably should be #2 behind T-Mac, Henderson a slight 3rd behind Jeanty.

Jeanty had 2 good games and 2 decent games and pretty much nothing else.

I'd give it to shough personally. Tmac had several games with 2 receptions or less and shough had a winning record as a starter after taking over the worst team in football including a 4 game winning streak.

Not TMac's fault he has a bottom 5 QB in a power run focused scheme throwing him the ball... Put him on any competent offense and TMac is probably at 1500+ receiving yards

And while Shough did a good job of having a winning record, he was barely over .500 (5-4) in games he started and had a defense that held just about every team to 20 points or less. A 10-6 TD to INT ratio (13-6 if you want to count his rushing TDs) is nothing to write home about.

The Saints were competitive in most of their games before Shough despite having one of the worst starting QBs this year in Rattler. Give Shough credit for turning the Saints season around, but that defense is probably the biggest reason why they have won most of their games

Bad team, basically. Dike has had a wild season statistically too(leads NFL in AP yards) but because he is on the Titans, he will get overlooked.

Fannin Jr. would probably get more love too. He has had an exceptional season.

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
