For me he just needs to try.  Not even be successful to clear that bar.  Not trying is not acceptable.

This I 100% concur with. Hence why I keep saying that if that room stays static this offseason, I am completely done with Dan and Dave.

Im still trying to figure out how after Dalton's abysmal 2024 performance, Dan looked at all the FA QBs available and said yep, that's the best option available if Bryce gets hurt and can't go. Because that should be the logic. Not this guy isn't a threat to take the starting spot. I have a hard time believing that Dan, as a MLB that spent hours a day every season in the film studying all different caliber of offenses and QBs made that decision without some outside influence. Outside of everything else he's done as GM, that makes the least amount of sense.

I struggle with how badly he has evaluated LB's. How have we ended up with the worst LB Corps in the NFL under his watch???

Ive found sometimes its harder to evaluate people in your exact area of expertise. I struggle with it myself at times. It's hard to be objective because thought processes aren't the same trying to get to the same place. I tend to be a little more lenient than I should because I know they're not me and can't be.

Dan was an athletically gifted guy that had a killer instinct on the field.  Most guys on that level don’t understand how to get other peple on that level.  Because they never had to really learn the same way as someone who wasnt a natural.

I am actually on the other end of that scale. I expect everyone to perform at my level(or at least try) and I get very pissed off if they aren't able to. I have a warped perception because it comes easily to me and so I used to think that not performing at my level or higher was slacking off.

It took some people earlier in my career having to point out that some of these just doesn't come as easily or they just aren't as much of a maniac as I am about pushing for perfection.

I am the same way I just try to be understanding of what's going on inside my head or I end up losing too many employees. I've made that mistake before and lost several in a short time frame and it ended up costing me a lot more money to train new ones than just to check myself a little.

I still struggle with it. Especially if they are people I know or respect. I will have impossibly high expectations.
