He is also reportedly a very, very smart guy. 

That's why it's so frustrating to see him be so inflexible schematically and with some of the questionable personnel decisions.

Not making excuses for him because he has made some really bad decisions at times (like last Saturday). And is ultra conservative with the defense. But compared to other teams he has been on, he has had the least amount of talent here.

Agreed but Denver did get much better on defense after him. I think a pretty good chunk of that was just it being built but I would never consider him in the top 15 of NFL DC's.

I often wonder if having Capers on speed dial is what is holding hom back. The game has changed since Capers had an impact on the league. Evero might need a different voice in his ear.
