Bill Barnwell with encouraging words on the Panthers

Annoyingly, O-Line has to be the priority again this off-season. All the progress we made comes crumbling down if we're not able to sustain offensive drives. We will absolutely regress if we don't have a GOOD answer at LT by the time training camp starts.

Outside of that, I'd like to see us bring in a defensive backs coach who emphasizes form tackling. This season was a disaster of missed shoulder tackles, runners falling forward for extra yards, and friendly fire injuries.

And I still really want to see a game-changing MLB again. I know it's like asking for a winning lottery ticket, but after a decade of Beason and Luke, it just seems like such an integral part of the Panthers identity.

Three things I certainly agree with there.

His write up of the team is accurate in the vacuum of Saturday's game.  It's not even close to accurate in the context of watching this team all season.

If the Falcons hire an offensive coach or strong OC, keep Kirk Cousins the starter, and stay healthy, they will win this division by at least 3 games next year.

Barnwell is a dvoa dork so not sure what he’s doing crafting COPE EDS except click farming.

I am literally too stupid to understand advanced metrics and it makes watching sports sooooo much easier.

Our biggest problem is that we’ve already spent a lot of resources at corner (horn), O-line (Hunt snd Icky - 1st round early pick), WR (XL and McMillan), and RB (Hubbard).

Because of injuries and FA and XL, we have to compound investment in those positions again. Not good.

Coker made up for the XL miss, but it hurts to have to draft an OT again.

Something will have to be done at LT, as Barnwell pointed out and was very clear in that game, Nijman is a reserve. He will be a disaster for a full season schedule.

It sucks so much worse to lose Ikey with BC likely being done here, too. BC was our realistic, on roster stop gap option.

What did I miss?  Why is BC done here?  No snark, just busy with life and must have missed something.

He tore his Achilles and he is a free agent. At his age, he will likely not be signed by anyone until he can pass a physical. It's possible his career is over or he misses all of 2026.

If he is able to recover well, perhaps towards the end of next season we can bring him in to help out.

Truthfully, the FO needs to overhaul the OL room after the two major injuries.

The origin of advanced metrics was butt hurt patriots fans in the early 2000s trying to come up with a way to make Brady and Peyton comparable stat wise

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
