This nice I guess. Probably should look at the body of work instead. Just saying.

After so many years of being utter garbage I'm concerned that the organization is going to get distracted by the relative W-L success this year compared to recent years and overlook all the circumstances that led to that record. We very easily could've been a 5-12/6-11 type team.

I don't want to be too doom and gloom on that. I mean, Bryce was improved. Was he good? No. He's still a lower level NFL starting QB and he had some games where he looked absolutely abysmal. I still don't think he's our long-term answer and I hope to see signs this off-season that the Panthers realize that. Was the defense improved? Yeah. I mean, they were historically bad last year and improved to lower middle of the pack this year. That's a significant improvement. But we can't ignore that Evero loses his balls in critical situations and goes absolutely Charmin soft. That's why we're bad on 3rd and long. That's why we're bad in key late game situations.

Only confirms what we all knew,: 3rd and long on either side of the ball was often a bad omen.

I'd like to know how well our pass pro held up in those situations. Our defense definitely made the opponent's pass pro look elite in comparison. Also doesn't help that if our guy caught the ball short of the sticks, they're not getting the last few yards themselves to convert because unlike our defense, they know how to tackle.

3rd and long means the opposing defense can just pin there ears back and rush our terrible line. And Bryce isn’t aggressive enough but at the same time we did call a lot of plays for it can be 4th and short

On defense this is a pass rush stats, our pass rush is pathetic

It should also get someone fired. But what do I know.

i think evero is doing way more with less than his counterpart on the other side of the ball

like the panthers don't have anyone that can rush the passer at all. sending Rozeboom on a blitz is like banishing him to the Negative Zone

I'm skeptical of it being a talent problem and more of a scheme issue. But we will see next season when more players are added.

But with that being said, he has managed to out coach Canales as a whole this season.

I dont think rookies and a few FA's are going to change things much.  What we need is development from the guys we have drafted and have been on the team 2+years.  But since our 23 and 24 drafts were complete duds I am not sure what to expect

I said this in another thread just now but a lot is on the players. Tackling is horrible. They have allowed it. That is on players and the position coaches and Evero.
Just adding some talent and tightening that shoddy tackling up should improve things.

Plus the guys we drafted this year got a lot of snaps. They’ll have their first offseason as pros and in an NFL strength and conditioning program, I expect every one of them to be better next year.

The theme for the offseason last year, by the teams own mouths, was to improve their tackling and bring in player's that could stop the run. What happened? I sure haven't noticed much improvement. Only DB knows how to tackle and if f not for him it would be on par with last years defense.

Can’t argue much with it. Good linebackers would make a huge difference. Jewel wasn’t great but losing him really hurt. We were basically practice squad level a good deal of the time there.
Wallace needs to get on the stick, I had hopes for him when they took him but those have been downgraded. I don’t think he will ever be much.

edit/PS we did improve, substantially. Despite the remaining issues. A lot of the problem early was likely an issue of integrating new guys and getting them on the same page. We seemed to have fewer blown coverage assignments n the back end as the year progressed.
