I again disagree but this literally has nothing to do with XL. He was just as bad in snap one as his last snap of the season. If anything, he kept getting worse.

That's not a practice issue. That's an issue with motivation and ability.

Back to XL, I am not there to know how dense he is when it comes to coaching and the lessons offered and how long it takes for him to absorb that.
I suspect he needs more time for that stuff. Than the next guy. And whether it would help or not I think he would have a better chance with more attention than I think he gets.

You wanna say he should hire his own coach? I wouldn’t disagree with that at all. Because he needs more coaching.

I think he is beyond any sort of coaching help. He couldn't dedicate himself enough be a decent college football player until five years into his career, apparently. At the rate that it's going, he would be close to the end of his career when the light finally flips on.

It's best to move on. Let him be someone else's problem and focus on getting NFL players on the field.

Nice to see an amazing former receiver offer to take on two youngsters on the brink of WR Siberia. By the same token, I'm also at my limit of the offseason IG reels of these guys stopping/stuttering and shifting against air making me think that this equates to success.

At least XL is making an effort....let's see where it goes.

XL has faults, but Ive heard him being lazy or not putting in the time/work. Big year for him, if I was helping him, Id call Ricky Proehl and beg him to help. Proehlific Park is in Greensboro, not that far and tell XL not to leave until he's ready.

Saw what I think is a good video on Legette. Didn’t want to make a new topic. And he hasn’t been traded, yet.
Putting it here.
This guy is pretty unbiased on it I think.

If they draft a 1st round receiver he's gone.

Three first round wide receivers in a row for our offense to sputter near the bottom of the rankings.

Its completely ridiculous to think they need more 1st round wr's to have an average offense.

What has become of Xavier Legette and Jonathan Brooks today in not only the same draft but in rounds 1 and 2 (and traded UP for both) is difficult to overlook with the current needs we have across the roster present day. Makes the shoe shining for the FO some insist on even more bewildering.

Brooks was a total freak accident.  I still think he has great football in front of him.  XL is a tough call.  I think Mingo just didn't have it.  XL, hopefully, just got a big head and did not take himself seriously during his first off-season.  If he has learned after last year's struggles that's a bonus.

I wouldn't be past keeping XL for the next two years AND drafting another WR this year.  Only owing 4.4 million over two years is a bargain compared to signing a free agent.  He may not get a jersey this year on game days.

If we don't go WR in the first round I wouldn't opposed to looking at Elijah Sarratt, Germie Bernard, or Antonio Williams in the second or trade up from 83.

If only we could have an average offense then there wouldn't be so much bitching.

As it stands we have one of the worst offenses in the league, yardage and points scored. 27th with tons of assets invested. Another WR isn't going to make much difference when the QB struggles making basic passes.

It's crazy how we ship off these receivers but still tugging the ⚓ along behind us....
