Panthers have a Jalen Coker problem.

Reality check - XL and Coker have almost the same production the past two years.  I'm pulling for Coker and I think he can be a great tandem with TMac, but let's tap the breaks on giving him a big payday.  The NFL is littered with WRs that have 500 yards receiving and hit a big game every once and a while.

I haven't bothered to look up the actual % but just from watching every game past 2 years I would imagine their snap count is almost 2:1 for XL

Bryce's contract has zero influence on Coker, period. If you think otherwise than you are just revealing your ignorance on how all of this works behind the scenes; QB contracts are basically a different tier that can also be utilized to reallocate resources when needed via restructures (see Brees and Saints.)

The ERFA status simply gives the team a "declare your interest in keeping this player" due date, that is all. The numbers are irrelevant for any long-term plans, they are just a placeholder until both sides agree to a new contract if so desired.

Not really the same production when you account for playing time. Coker has slightly better production playing half the snaps of XL.

I'm a big fan of Coker - he just needs to stay healthy.

I feel everyone is overlooking Coker Injury issues of the last 2 seasons, in and out of season......

That was one hell of hell game, but holy grand gods at some of the thinking here......

The whole 2024 and whole 2025 with finishes of low 500 yards and 3 TDs in each, injuries missed games IR, missed OTAs, he wasn't with Adam and the other WRs(BY was) at Lake Minnetonka bro builder, Smitty called him out on many things(......) and then One game happens and lets give the kid a 100 million while they have contract control for 2 full years???

Panthers need to pay him like a proper WR#2 stat. People will balk at the contract initially but look at the FA market for WRs the last few years. Good ones just don't become available anymore.

SMH. He’s basically under a 2 year fixed deal with us. The only way out of that is if another team gives us a 1st round pick in 2027. There is absolutely no rush needed. Wait till 2027, tag him as a RFA and then give him an extension for 2028+ if he’s still worth it.

    • For us to win 9-10 games a lot of poo has to break in our favor.  A lot more than last season.  That stuff just doesnt happen two years in a row.   I really think the icky injury is really going to mess things up for a prolonged period.  We have all seen what happens when we dont have a competent LT.  Things get dicey in hurry.   Couple that with Tampa getting healthy, Atlanta getting some grown ups in the room and New Orleans on the up and up then our div seemingly is slowly rising from the ashes.  Oh yeah that goes along with our first place schedule   As we sit here today I would say our O/U is probably 6.5-7.   Maybe.   But if this offense doesnt get figured out stat then we are in a world of hurt.  We cannot be relying on going for it on 4rth so much and we cannot think the breaks are going to go our way in one score games.  For us to win 10 games we probably need close to a top 10 offense.  As of 2/2/26 I just dont see it
    • I know it's obviously more than Kon. But whewww boy, when you actually hit on a cornerstone piece in the draft, good things happen.  Playing our way out of needing lottery luck this year, and should wind up with 2 1sts in the late teens to low 20 range.
    • It’s crazy. I had a feeling that we were gonna go into Houston and whip their ass lol
