I'm usually a nerd when it comes to the draft, however I haven't paid any attention to this year's draft class. My general sense is that it's a weak class? There aren't any blue chip prospects or generational talents it seems like.

there is only a handful of blue chippers (Reece, Styles, Downs, Love, Bain) but overall its a pretty deep draft with solid players.  Really deep on the defensive side particularly lb's so that is in our favor.  Thats why I have been saying if styles is not there at 19 (he wont be) then try to pull a Rams/Falcons type deal and get another 2nd and first for next year.  IMO there really isnt much difference in quality of players at the back half of the first into the 2nd

It’s always a weak draft, next year is always better according to the draftniks. This is a weak draft for QB, WR, and TE. Theres only a few true LT. RB and DB are average. It’s a good class for the rest of the Oline, Dline, Edge, and LB.

That's usually the narrative when there aren't highly touted QBs or DEs. Off ball LB is the position this year. And there are some really good prospects. WRs are deep too. No generational level guys but very deep with solid options.

I would target CJ Allen in the 1st. I want a real ILB. Not a pass rusher that can move back. Not a safety that can move up. He's smart, tough, instinctive and durable. Dude had surgery on his meniscus and missed one game. One game. And... he's only played LB. Watching him control guards with his hands andsift through the garbage to get to the ball is refreshing. That's my guy in the 1st.

I agree the trenches are critical, but after Mauigoa and Fano, any OT at 19 would be a huge reach.

Get another playmaker for Bryce.  It will do more to prove if he's here beyond the rookie contract and will also prove if Canales is here beyond next year.  He's supposedly an offensive genius, time to prove it, and a barely average, rookie OT isn't going to help his case.  Go look how lost Will Campbell looked in almost every game, and New England managed to win 17 of them thanks to Josh McDaniel and their QB.

No doubt OT needs to have natural talent and athleticism, but there is ALOT you can coach into a lineman to get more out of them with later round guys.  Versus a skill position where speed, size, and hands are premiums in the first round that you can't match in late rounds unless you get lucky.  Our front office and scouting department have never been lucky.

Canales has never been listed as an offensive genius.

If you don't know what you have in Young by now, you never will.

After being in hell for years purgatory is an upgrade

Thats true and you have a point but us being an 8 win team and still needing a lot of pieces it kindof narrows the margins of the draft picking at the back half.   To me this draft will define Morgan and co.   1 of the worst of all time followed by a really solid one lets see what he delivers in April
