Hypothetical question draft content*

I have been doing a bunch of mock drafts and this one interesting scenario popped up that made me question myself. I know our needs edge, mike, OT,wr, and secondary. This situation Love fell to 19 and I know we don't NEED a RB. But if we stay out at 19(I don't think we do) I don't think I could say no to love.

If this team really believes in BPA and love is there at 19 who realistic is better than love at this point? Love is a top 5 talent, there is no akeem messador or Caleb banks or Kenyon Sadiq type player I think I would rather have than love. He would make Bryce life much easier, he's a homerun threat on a offense that lacks speed.

He's essentially modern day Reggie bush to me and I think he could play alongside Chubba on passing down potentially as a slot and be the speed threat we really need. I think it's a bit crazy but I would be willing to wait til the second round and see who falls at edge(I think we land Chubb or loyd in free agency) maybe chase TJ parker if he falls or Rodriguez or golliday in the second/third. What say you?

WHat I try to do is disregard my personal preferences.  My philosophy is spend $$ on the OL and not on RBs--never draft a RB in the first round and RARELY give a RB a second contract.  There are exceptions, so for me, I would have to base it on needs over all else.

We NEED a starting T

We NEED a starting ILB 

We NEED a rotational Edge

We NEED a starting C

We NEED a WR to a lesser degee, if we stay healthy

We probably NEED a starting FS.

I am concerned that Rico will be gone (right move) and Chuba will be 27-about the age RBs start to decline.  So you could make an argument for Love, but if we drafted Love at 19, I know we'd get good value, but I would be so pissed off.

I do not disagree with your philosophy at all and typically I don't believe in RB in the first round but I think if you want a super talented guy like exceptional those guys go in the first round You're not getting Gibbs or love or Bichon or saquan you're not getting those type transformational figures anywhere but the first round I think our need at tackle is temporary

I have the same thoughts about RB/OL. What did we pay Rico? Not much. I know you saw the size of some of those holes when he was going off. 
You can get 90% of the way to HOF level RB for probably a third of the money. Put that behind a well built OL and watch him work. 
 

I would trade that out of that pick in a minute.

Who says Love will be bpa at 19? You cannot go by mock drafts or someone else's rankings. Even if he was bpa there's a reason he would drop and that's the fact he's a RB.  No, we are not going to take a RB in round 1. Ask Marty Hurney how many wins CMC added to this team.

I feel we need QB too, my guy Cole Payton is making $$$$ at the combine.....I think he's going 3-5 now, Id even say lock it up. (he's up 70 spots in mocks...)

I swear the ICKEY injury killed dang near the whole plan. If not for that, I feel you could make a decent case to draft TY Simpson, sure he doesn't have many fans on the huddle. Fact is he the clear #2(I like Cole right next to him.....), and if you have the chance to add the #2 QB at 19 in a modern draft, its perfectly ok. 

Plus Dan was FA fill, we know cobert is back unless some team gives him 6 million. He is finally healthy this off-season for the first time in years. Dan doesn't have space, but I still fill that 2nd wave of "cheap" options, Dan will collect a few and thus the draft will change.

I've had a few mock draft and love was there, it did make me think...lol @ mocks and all.

Still I do not see how on earth KC doesn't draft him, that would be scary and too much sense. Still him even getting past the saints would legit shock me, Kellen Moore knows what a stud RB he is.

The deal is this RB draft is weak, very weak. Love is the only difference maker and its clear. 2nd ranked guy is around 3rd and the remaining group are 6th-UDFA. Its bad, maybe the worst in years. All the guys want to be WRs now, no one wants to carry the ball and take hits for peanuts....they'd rather get a rec and step out of bounds...

He would drop based on the reason everyone else in here is saying. Running backs aren't valuable and you shouldn't take them in the first. I do think that mindset is changing. Your seeing guys like Jenty Gibbs, Bijaun and Hampton prove their worth. But not everyone is ready to accept that change. This dropping his value
