Rams are willing to deal one of the 1st rounders for all-pro talent in secondary

I wonder how high he might be on their list. Played against him twice this year so they will know if they like him, that way.

They have film on every game to analyze. They dont need to rely on seeing him from the sidelines

19 +13 = top 5 selection plus a day two pick coming back our way. We're talking Reese, Bailey, Bain territory plus an additional talent on day 2.

Yes, please.

I love Horn and think he makes Mike Jack better, but the ROI vs. injury concern here would be too hard to pass up.

I'd take someone like Jobe or Woolen here + the draft returns over Horn.

It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.

They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew…

Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.

It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.
This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.

Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.

Not worth it for *just* a 1st this year IMO because you've just got to turn around and replace him. If there's more picks, yep.

To me, the best thing about trading Horn is getting out from under that contract. Obviously we hope he stays healthy, but that's a lot of money committed to a zone corner who doesn't travel, can't tackle, and has his injury history.

Y'all realize that if we trade Horn, we are going to have to draft a corner high because all we have is Mike Jackson (29 years old) and a punch of scrubs or unknowns at corner. We are also trading away one of our maybe 3 guys on defense that are actually good.

Let's also keep in mind how awful we have drafted the past decade (minus last year).

And.... the Rams will probably be a top 5 team in the NFL next year, so a future 1st from them won't be as appealing.

If the Rams offer both of their 1sts this year for Horn, sure (doubt this will happen). Otherwise, I'll pass

His contract is that high because of natural salary cap increases. Once dudes like Dejean, Witherspoon, McDuffee, Gonzalez, etc. reach their 2nd contract, they will be paid more than Horn. It's the case for any very good/elite player that reaches their 2nd contract - they usually become one of the highest paid players at their position.

Only thing that has me on the side of trade is the multiple concussions he suffered last year.

You know who before clicking....

What say thee in off-season dull- Horn for 13th overall...... its a near wash in cap saving(+1,350,000).

Id ask for more mid and future picks, but I'm willing to do just the 13th....

Rams want to go all-in with Matthew and are willing to part with either 1st for a proven DB talent..

Horn's 2026 cap hit is $24.4M, #13 would get about $4.4M in 2025, that's a savings of $20M. $20M in FA would do us a lot of good. That, plus 2 top 20 picks (working on your assumption that LA isn't keeping #13 and trading #29) would sure make the offseason interesting. I get a bit of a chubby thinking about Styles and Lomu in the 1st. I know that Styles is now projected to go top 10, but a boy can dream. I'd still want them to sweeten the pot, #93 this draft or #167 this year and next years 3rd.

Horn is a really, really good corner, but his injury history will always worry me and his contract is huge! Cap hits of $22.7 in 2027 and $28.7 in 2028.

I am not sure what the true offer would be from the rams but if it is 2 firsts (thats the only way I even discuss it) then hell to the yes I am doing that and not thinking twice.
