Hard Knocks: Carolina Panthers

I know there have been a few Hard Knock threads but I wanted to start a new one regarding the possibility of them doing the Carolina Panthers for next seasons training camp. That being said, for the popular HBO sports documentary to come to Charlotte/Spartanburg we will make believe that a new Collective Bargaining Agreement will be reached in time for training camp to start on time. I might be a "homer" but I think we have some intriguing story lines that HBO would love to tackle:

1) Cam Newton - Obvious reasons.... if we draft Nick Fairley don't plan on "Hard Knocks" coming to Charlotte

2) Jerry Richardson - What better way to discuss the resolution of CBA issues than to be at the doorstep of the face of the NFL Owner's during negotiations

3) Jimmy Clausen - Horrible rookie season for the "Golden Boy"... QB battle with Newton

4) Steve Smith - Former triple crown winner and always animated Steve Smith

5) Double Trouble - I would just love to see all the "Hard Knocks" slow motion replays of J-Stew and Deangelo breaking tackles.

6) Armanti Edwards - Will the project be worth the 2nd round pick they gave up

7) 2-14 to the Playoffs?? Panthers have done it before (in reference to Super Bowl Season)

8) Young Bro Bowl Talent - Beason, Kalil, Gross, (future Charles Johnson)

I understand "the stars would have to align" for this to happen but I wanted to put it up for discussion. We have a very young and energetic team (which is always good for TV) and it appears Hard Knocks doesn't have a problem filiming "small market" teams being they filmed seasons in Kansas City and Cincinnati. One question I have is that if we were given the opportunity would our front office even embrace being on the show? or would they shy away from it?

Most people who aren't fans won't care about most, if any, of the reasons you gave. No reason to think people will watch

Snowballs stand a better chance in hell than the Panthers do of ending up on Hard Knocks. It wont matter who we draft, nobody outside of the Carolinas that isn't a fan of the team gives enough of a damn about this team to warrant that kind of exposure.

It doesn't matter about national following, they just want good TV. If we get Newton I would say there is a good chance we will be in the running. Now if JR allows it is a whole different story. The Bengals were on Hard Knocks and they have no national following - just a couple divas that make good TV.

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
