Our biggest addition Jaelen Phillips has a significant injury history to include a ruptured Achilles followed by a torn ACL.

We failed to add a much needed starting safety, ilb, and/or nickel in the draft.

Lee Hunter is nice but ends up being a wash considering the loss of A'Shawn Robinson.

Injuries could cause problems for a unit lacking depth.  Top ten seems a bit ambitious with a likely upgrade in strength of schedule.

Brah, they signed Devion Lloyd. Hes a top 5 ILB for the last 2 seasons at Pffffffft.

Another off-season of weights for Prince and Nic.

Pat Jones is back and hungry .

Lee dropped to the 4th round and has skills to be a CB starter.

Thor is coming back.

Tre'von Moehrig is the second best defender and has another year in this system.

There's some young talent here, its time.

We finally have the right personnel for the Fangio 5-1 variation that Evero runs.  Our Penny/EAT front could be a problem for some teams out there where we slide Trevor into the slot--

5: Philips - Turk - Hunter - Brown - Scourton

1: Lloyd

Slot/Nickel: Moehrig

OCB: Horn & Mike Jack

2-High: Ransom & Wheatley

Having the better pass rush juice is going to have a big impact.  Oh and a competent green dot.

If we can get off the field on 3rd down and give bryce a short field to work with, Carolina could be poised to turn heads.  I'm predicting NFC Championsip game because look at the state of the NFC.  Whole conference is going in the shitter.

I wouldn't even bet on us winning the NFC South.

All four teams had excellent Drafts.

Devin Lloyd is a stud lb but who is next to him? Prince and Nic should improve. Lee was super value but i am not counting this fourth round chicken yet. I would expect some improvement; hope to eat my words w/ a top ten D.

I think it really depends on if we have an offense that can sustain drives. 3 and outs kill a defense

Which is why I am still sort of concerned about the RB room and was definitely very concerned about the OL.

Bryce ain’t gonna do squat unless we can run effectively. He is impotent otherwise.

No team is stacked at every position.  We have elite player(s) at every level of the defense and that's rare.  (Brown, Phillips, Lloyd, Horn, Jackson, Moehrig).  I think Scourton is going to break out this year.

If they all are elite, that is over half the defense. Just get competent in the other 5 slots and sit back and enjoy.

Scott, I know… but I worry about Wallace being a liability maybe most of all. And again, the learning curve in regards to everyone knowing their job and where they need to be. And trusting that your teammates are reliable on that count.

To me, more than the talent level, the question is how fast can they all mesh as a team?

I wouldn’t be surprised if it took a few weeks to tighten it all up.

I believe Lloyd will elevate not just the whole unit, but also whoever his running mate is. Wallace is still very young, I think he's only 23 with two years of exp now. Cherelus can handle starting, he's just fighting with staying healthy. Kuwatch I think is going to be a contender after a couple week of understanding the system.

I mean Lee will be against..... what nearly 10 NFL-level WRs, he's going to get work and its up to him if he can hang.

I think its fair to expect 12th +/- 3 or 4 spots.

You know this, it boils down to how healthy everyone stays.....cause if dbrown, horn, Lloyd, Michael Jackson, or tervon miss extended time.....no way 10th can be reached. IF all the names above remain haethly, I do think 10th should be the goal. They are a young unit and added talent to a 16th ranked unit. Its time to march forward!!
