Is Eric Norwood a 3-4 OLB, Tampa 2 DE, or SLB?

I'm a little confused as to how he fits here. I'm sure having Rivera will make him more valuable if he's used in a 3-4. But he could also be less valuable if Rivera doesn't prefer speedy, undersized ends like Meeks did.

I think he got a sack at the end of the year from the DE position. He was listed as an OLB early on then became a DE later.

Will he be a Jack of All Trades, master of none? Thomas Davis had a clusmy entrance into the NFL where his saving grace was the Falcons game where he could show how a LB with 4.4 speed can be useful.

Norwood hasn't flashed as brightly, he shouldn't be expected to since he's a 4th rounder. He still needs to find a niche soon. He looked fantastic on ST which is never a bad sign.

I think he'd be great as a flex-DE/OLB backup along with a special teams starter and potential ST captain. It may not last long, but we kept Cooper (S) here solely for ST play for like 3 years or so.

If Rivera and McDermont employ a Jim Johnson attacking style, I think he can find a place in the defense and maybe excel. If not, I really don't know that he'll ever find a role here solely on defense. He's an above average pass rusher who is probably below average in a number of other areas.

I think that Brown and Norwood make us a NT away from pulling off a nice occasional 3-4.

Think he's best suited as a 3-4 OLB. A little bit miscast and wasted here but at least he looks beast on STs.

I think they'll continue to try to develop him into an OLB while using him as a pass rush specialist with his hand in the dirt on occasion.

Him and Taylor are best used as Jack LBs. Idk if the system we will run will use them that way though.

Well I don't know if Taylor and Brayton are under contract but even if they aren't on the team I don't see him getting much playing time.

For those who think he is a better OLB, what about his coverage skills? I know the kid is great against the run and could be a good pash rushing OLB but his coverage skills need a lot of work before I would consider him being a better OLB than DE.

Maybe the new coaches will change that but untill then I think he is better suited as a DE.
