CSR: Panthers focusing on DT at Baylor pro day...

If the Panthers had already decided to take one of the top DTs in the draft such as Nick Fairley or Marcell Dareus it makes you wonder if they would continue to work out the tier 2 guys. Maybe they are just doing their due diligence but it does seem to suggest as the author points out that the Panthers will try to fill their DT need later in the draft.

Or they are considering trading down. Taylor is supposedly a mid to late first rounder since trimming to 337. 3-4 teams love him as a NT and 4-3 Teams like him too--no way he drops to 65.

We are considering all options. I can tell you that I read speculation that they are interested in Quinn or Peterson in the first, which suggests that they are going to take advantage of depth in the draft at DT, it would seem.

By the way, isnt this about the third draft in a row we swore Hurney would take a top DT?

Taylor is the best DT is the draft. 6'4 350lbs and runs 5.10... I watched him play, that dude got doubled teamed almost every play and still cause chaos in the backfield. He's a true NT. Only problem is... He gets lazy at times and quits on plays...

It would be sweet if we ended up drafting Taylor, never heard anything about him being lazy, not saying your wrong ARSEN, just hate to hear something like that, since we've had a DE that took play's off from time to time. Could you imagine Taylor AND Dareus?!

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
