Finally, a thread on the best QB in this draft

Hey, I'm the world's most intelligent human being I can predict the future. My name is Mav, I'm stating for a fact that Pike who has not played anymore than a rookie season of football is a terrible player because if I am ever proven wrong it will be too far in the future for anyone to remember me saying such a stupid comment. Instead, I will say now that Pike will be now and forever a terrible quarterback despite the fact he has never started an NFL game. Being that I think like that, I also refuse to believe that there were ever the players by the name of Brett Farve, Aaron Rodgers, Kurt Warner, Steve Young, and countless other make believe players that do not exist because a player cannot ever be good after not showing he is a good player his first year.

Perhaps you didn't understand what I meant. I certainly know that a player can struggle in their first year or not even play at all and actually be good. Of course, it's rare that those players are 6th rounders, but hey, it does happen!

If Pike has success, it will have absolutely nothing to do with what he did at Cinci and EVERYTHING to do with how he improves his arm strength. Are you going to try to tell me that some system could predict Kurt Warner's success because of how he did at UNI?

This kind of ultra conservative nut job would fit in perfectly down here.

It’s not cool — Classes with a communist — Absolutely, it’s very liberal over here, very liberal. I know what you mean. Some people think it is. You get to college and this seems to be the most liberal place ever. I remember telling that to my dad and he said, that’s just how colleges are. I don’t know how other colleges are, but when you walk around here, you’ve got people . . . you’ve got guys walking around in dresses. I’ve seen and hippies. They’re doing nothing. There’s the Ped Mall area down there. Right in the middle. Those people are going nowhere. Those people are the people who don’t like America. They always find something wrong with it. They’re the problem. They’re the people who need to change and figure it out. They need to get it together and work hard. The people who are doing things right and working hard, they don’t complain because there’s no point in complaining. When something happens to you, you take it on the chin and keep moving forward.

Hes got a better last name than Gabbert

He also always looked like a QB than Gabba! THose highlights show he can put the ball in stride for wrs....I like the pick... its later and we can get an elite piece of the puzzle like a patrick peterson..dareus.

If u blurred ur eyes and said these are Andrew Luck highlights...it looks errie.

however I have watched a lot of Stanzi and he can be inconsistent..but then so was Brady at michigan. Stanzi has a lot of pocket presence and good footwork..I like him better than Gabba for value(more polished), and all the other 2nd tier guys: Locker, Kapernick, Dalton.

The algorithm is not a be all end all but he has decent sample size...Id like to see it play out the next few years.

Yeah ok... keep dreaming supporters of Stanzi... This is just gonna be another 4th or 5th round quarterback that after the draft is never heard of again.

Unfortunately the Tom Brady's of the world only come every 20 years or so... so we lack another 8 before the next one show's up.

    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
    • Didnt Canales already say starters are playing in the pre season? either way extra reps dont hurt but im not one of those people that think playing in the pre season would have saved Bryce from an awful start.
    • very helpful.  I read back in this thread where they might try Jarvis at C--I thought he and Aho had good chemistry, however.  Nonetheless, he could expand his value there, and now we have a guy who can play jarvis' spot.  Freddie is a pro, no doubt--and as little as I know about the inner workings of strategy and positions, I could tell Burns was burning us at times.  I figured he'd retire and I was looking forward to it.  FWIW, they have Jarvis listed as a C on the 2025-26 roster.
