Hope vs. Reality

We don't have a chance at getting Taylor in the third, he'll be long gone.

With the DT position being so deep, it becomes about personal preference, so you never know. I'm hearing he's a low 1st rounder to a 3rd rounder due to his off the field issues, so it isn't completely out of the question.

I'd like Newton and am pretty sure he'll be the pick. If not Newton, hopefully A.J. Green. Hope we stay well clear of Fairley. I'd also LOVE to get Jordan Cameron from USC at TE with one of our 3rd rounders - preferably the comp. pick.

I'd also like Alex Henery, but have a feeling that's a pipe dream more than anything.

LOL, wow, what a simple view. The guy has the most potential, though not the "safest pick". Course, the people that don't pay the bills always have a high and mighty view. They are doing their due diligence on him, multiple interviews, etc. This is the most important position and a big need...

:banghead: I was obviously being sarcastic. I was parodying the recent idea that if we take Cam it would be because he would sell tickets....

I have no idea but I'll be surprised if Killa Cam is not the pick all I do know is that it will be very telling in us be able to start the comparing of the Fox era vs the Rivera era. If we will be conservative vs taking more chances because we need too.

I, of course, want what is best for the Panthers and whether I like who we draft or not I will Die wear the Panther colors.

It is funny though, through the last couple of weeks. Someone on this forum has labeled the majority of our top Eight as a Bust. Gabbert (I have), Newton, Fairley, Bowers just to name a few.

Could we be passing on Greatness. With the #1 pick chances are we are going to pass on a HOFer. We have a chance to draft one too. I guess we have to trust Hurney and hope his staff drafts what is best for the Carolina Panthers.

I know what I think should happen.

I have no idea what will happen.

(neither does anyone else, though some think they do)

What I hope for is that Marty Hurney makes the right choice, regardless of who agrees or disagrees with it (including me).

i hope we pick newton...my gut tells me we pick dareus...the only players i don't want are blaine gabbert and da'quan bowers

I agree with your gut. I just do not see Hurney pulling the trigger on Cam. Too risky for him at this time. I do not see Gabbert either. It will be Dareus, Green (if they think Smith is gone, they may go this way) or Peterson (if you can't get a good passer in a division full of them, shut theirs down). Since the draft is pretty deep at CB and DT, do not be too surprised to see Green's number called.

In the third, we could get a Nevis or a Jenkins and then a CB. We have a lot of cap room (if there was a cap), so the BPA on thier boards could be the pick. Me? I cannot decide what I would do. I bet on the 28th of this month, you could not hammer a needle up Hurney's butt.

After the Patriots game a lot of noise has been made surrounding the panthers. We should remember that espn(their network of channels, and website) and really what the major entertainment industries(movies, television, sports leagues) bank on to stay making profit and dominance is by selling emotion(rival drama, suspense, connection to a team in-part because competition and separation, along with the appreciation and understanding of talent and ability, and the whole 'game' of winning)

In all honesty the team should completely forget about the flag. This is sports, things happen but what matters is results, improvement, refinement, and confidence from the community, and GM's office, players, and coaches on the field. The team should understand that winning the next two games is just as important as winning this patriots game was. It is very possible but not a given. every team on the field fields athletes physically capable of making the right plays to win a game. Teams that win come out every day of the week knowing this, they also don't underestimate their abilities, and are aware that just the reputation around the saints, makes beating an inferior team easier because they start to bend.

come out and win this games confidently then understand that if you beat the saints once you know you can beat any team in the nfc that makes the playoffs. even if you don't beat them once you still know that you can beat any team in the nfc. The playoffs are different, and Cam is different in big games.

We need to improve, keep our focus during these to games and make progress. Against the patriots i think the coaches should have done a bit more to pressure brady. We shouldn't have been scared, though their run game was able to keep us on guard, but that was do to tackling. Tackling may have been due to jitters. On the last drive you saw that Brady and his receivers were vulnerable to make a mistake.

The team should also learn that they can play. Cam was superb, they running backs and opine could have helped more, and the defensive should have put on more pressure. but you play every game to win and to learn.
