Finally got to watch it and I was honestly wondering what the big deal was with the metaphor about the gun...then I saw the video and I was like "please stop, what are you saying???" It didn't come off that well but neither did Mallet...didn't get to see Locker's but Mallet was just as annoying and had an arrogance about him. At least Cam has that personality that makes you like him and makes you forget the dumb stuff that comes out of his mouth sometimes.

As far as the throwing questions, I think Rivera put all that to rest with his comment that he has seen all he needs to see with Cam throwing the ball. I've said this constantly the last couple of weeks, I trust Rivera and Hurney to make the best decision. They have done plenty of homework on this kid and if they pick him it won't be because they want to sell tickets, they will do it because they think that he can turn into a special player. Who's to say what will happen a few years from now...he might be a mental case like Collins, lazy like Russell, or brain dead like Leaf, but I don't think they would make that pick if any of those things were even remotely true.

The first pass he threw was so horrible I almost turned it off.

Then the second almost bounced.

Then the third was late because he has to hitch to get his feet set and can't just plant and throw but it was on target.

The fourth would have gotten his receiver killed.

Can't see the receiver on the 5th.

The last one was goodish

I was warming up to Cam being the pick.. but after that video, I am completely turned off to the idea. Cam is not going to be able to pick up Chud's 900 play playbook any time soon, that's for sure. Simply put, Cam is too much of a project to be drafted #1 overall. He may be a very good player someday, but he will not be able to contribute in his first season.

I still dont get this mindset......... So because Cam wont be able to contribute in his first season - people want to pass for that reason alone because we are picking at #1 vs somewhere else early in the first :crazy: Its not like the Panthers long term QB situation is going to get any better by passing on him :confused5: OH... thats right.... the guy we pick in next years draft will be ready to start right away and be better, sorry I forget that :cool:

I look forward to the full version. I like this Cam more than the version we saw at the combine. I think Gruden's just good at putting him at ease. He seems genuine enough.

Gruden didn't ask him what motivated him, he asked him how he deals with criticism. He deals with it the same way that Smitty does.

I can say after the clip I was concern. But what really matters is that we all understand were he is coming from when he was talking about the gun thing, { He did say they were harmful and dangerous}. Explaning it he had a poor choice in words. The only way it will have a huge factor about him getting pick by the Panthers is how Jerry and Marty looks at it. And if they see it in a bad way he will not be the pick.

I know its a little thing but the kid always looks professional and is probably the most well-spoken of any of the QBs in this draft. I like what he brings to the table...He may take a few years but I think he'll be a good QB. IDK if he'll be GREAT (as in Manning, Brady, etc...). But I think he has a legit shot to be in the Rivers, Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan discussion in a few years. I think the same for Gabbert as well...
