Bleacher report About our panthers

It is tough to be fan of a really bad football team. Game days seem like something to punish you instead of something that you take pride in. You wait for turnovers instead of touchdowns, injuries instead of trade inquiries, suffering instead of Super Bowls and at the end of it all, you are just glad that the offseason and the false hope it sometimes provides is coming.

A lot more

Pretty sure people don't like it when someone posts things from bleacher report, its no different than reposting a forum thread for the simple fact Bleacher report is news articles from your every day fan.... the ones that sit in the bleachers of games... that's why its called bleacher report.

The way this is written you would think the Panthers have been 2-14 for the past 5 seasons.

Not only were the 2010 Carolina Panthers one of the worst teams in the history of the National Football League

HIGHLY debatable

but they also had one of the worst quarterback situations in league history

this not so much

I could probably agree if they said "quarterback performances" instead of situations, as their assessment makes no mention of the ineptitude displayed by the offensive (no pun intended) coaching.

Oh how soon we forget...

do you guys remember sitting through those games last year? I don't know about you but there was a point where Sundays did in fact feel like a punishment. Especially after the 09 season.

and yes last year they did put up the stats to be one of the worst teams in history. The stats are debatable but the team was horrible.

That is why I am looking forward to this season so much we can only be better.

Who said the team was good?

The team was bad but not the worst in NFL history.

no way is our team in the conversation for worst in the history of the NFL, but it was pretty awful.

still, maybe I'm a nutjob, but I still loved sundays. If nothing else, I got a kick out of watching the D play in the 2nd and 3rd quarter most games.

also, every time clausen completed a pass I'd get giddy and hope that he'd make it two in a row. he almost never did, but when he did, man, that made sunday great.

Not worst, one of the worst...there is a thread a while back I think people could only name 3-4 teams statistically worse and a couple didn't count because it wasn't the same 16 game plan...etc. I would guess they would not break out of the top ten worst of all time, I could be wrong, too lazy to look up.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
