8/9 1030 Practice Thread

I do hope we come out firing on all cylinders Saturday night. It really has been a long time since we have sniffed what an explosive passing game looks like.

I remember they were going to open it up back in 2007. Delhomme came out firing rockets to 4 and 5 WR sets in the preseason. Remember the fearsome 4 WR set of Smitty, Colbert, Drew Carter, and Dewayne Jarrett? Haha.

Fox would never actually do that games situations and then Delhomme got hurt and Fox became even more conservative and predictable.

if pilares goes on the practice squad is a 4th round pick really worth practice squad? Makes no sense
what would make no sense is to keep a guy on the roster just because we gave up a 4th or 5th rounder for him when there are better players on the team and greater positions of need.

we made that mistake too often with players drafted earlier.

nothing against pilares or his potential. there are just too many players with more talent ready to go ahead of him and too few slots.

crap...unless lafell picks it up he might be out of a roster spot. looks like clowney and edwards are really lighting it up...of course it's still training camp, but you've got to prove you deserve the spot all the time.

Panthers now working DeAngelo Williams in the Wildcat. He pitches out to Steve Smith, who runs it. Jeff Davidson a distant memory.

It might not work all the time, but this offense at least is going to be fun to watch.

    • Seeing as how big brother Bryce hater immediately slid in to wax poetic about "waiting and seeing" (after spending the entire offseason doing the opposite), I've got a feeling we’ll be hearing the same old gospel soon: Tampa is the clear division favorite Bryce has size limitations And of course: "They gave up too much for him, so he must throw for 300+ every game or it wasn’t worth it" I've developed a bit more of an exotic palate than some, though--so while some might fear the taste of crow, I've grown rather fond of it over the years. Hopefully I'll be having a nibble after listening, but I've got a feeling they'll have more salt in their diet than I will crow... 😉
    • I would love to see Ryabkin make the big squad. He's that sandpaper we've been missing. If Aho is 250 grit and Carrier is 80 grit, this dude is that rough 5 grit that'll take your fingerprints off... Also...
    • Svech for Bob. Otherwise, go away.
