I support Cam now that he is a panther, but I really wanted Gabbert or Green. I feel like Gabbert has all the tools to be a great franchise QB and Green would have solidified the 2nd WR spot and taken over for SS in a few years.

i definitely didn't endorse him as the first overall pick. would have been happy to see him as a panther but didn't think he was worth the first pick. prefered dareus. time will tell.

Once luck was out, I pretty much said, who ever we pick, I'm fine. Like Cam. unless he fugs up, then forget I said any of this....

I didn't want him drafted to the Panthers, then I looked as his background and realized that this kid was the perfect person for this organization.

I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. After realizing the irony behind Cam taking two different schools, who either never seen a championship or one in a very long time to their NC and now having a chance to doing the same for the Panthers in the NFL made me say "why not."

Plus, I did my research on his background and the kid seem like a genuinely good kid with a healthy sense of himself, who seem to have just been going through some growing pains while in UF.

Not really. IMO, he is a crapshoot as are all QB's drafted in the first round. If he turns out to be as good as we hope, its a great pick. Even if he is average, I am ok with it. But if fails, we might be at or near the bottom of the league for a while.

Nope, all my friends said the Panthers are taking Cam Newton, and I denied it right down to the second it was announced by Goodell. Wanted Dareus or Peterson, but I'm a Defense guy.

Much more comfortable with the pick now than I was then, based on the things I've seen Cam do and say. He's the franchise now, like him or not, gotta support him.
