Post your reaction when the New Orleans Saints signed Panther legend John Kasay

Kasay's explaination on why he wanted to play for New Orleans...

Kasay admitted becoming comfortable with a new team on short notice would be an adjustment, but he was perfect on the six field goals he attempted during practice, at distances from 19 to 33 yards from alternating hash marks.

"This is a big change, obviously," Kasay said. "I spent a lot of years in Charlotte, and this is a great opportunity. I'm very grateful for the chance. (The Panthers) had some success for sure, but we lost our fair share, too. I had a few (winning kicks against the Saints), but those are in the rear-view mirror now."This is a real blessing; this is a very talented team. To have the opportunity to watch practice today, the tempo they use, their attention to detail, the things that they do, there's the making for a good year."[/I]http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf...asay_cons.html

There's a nice back-handed bitch slap to the way our team has been run (coaching wise).

Don't think it was done intentionally, but he obviously noticed a huge difference in how the practices are being run. Can't blame him for wanting to be a part of a winning organization. Also in the article says that he was perfect on all his kicks during the first few days of practice.

Apparently this is a recurring theme with the Saints. Here is an article about them signing pro-bowl center Olin Kreutz this offseason...

Saints Coach Sean Payton said center Olin Kreutz, the 13-year veteran New Orleans signed Friday turned down higher paying offers from other teams.

The attraction, Payton made clear but left unsaid, was a shot at winning a Super Bowl. Kreutz joined general manager Mickey Loomis to watch the Saints practice Thursday evening and what he saw was worth more than more dollars somewhere else, according to Payton.

"He actually had a flight out this morning and he never got on it," Payton said.

Coaching and Front office are obviously doing things the right way in New Orleans.

Saints do not equal winning organization.

They have been a winning team for the past few years....that I give you.

But as an organization, they are one of the biggest losign organizations in the HISTORY of the NFL.

Apparently John Kasay isn't intrested in playing for the 1978 Saints squad...

As you just said they are winning now, and John Kasay just signed with them now. All I'm saying is that you can't blame a guy for wanting a chance to win a superbowl before his career ends, just like Olin Kruetz is as well.

LOL, we would have had a little more success if not for his kickoff at the end of SB 38.

New Orleans knows all about losing, they did it for 40 years.

He should show a little more gratitude to an organization that bent over backwards to accommodate him for several years while his skills were waning.

I'm grateful for the contributions Kasay made as a Panther, but he's the enemy now... show him no mercy.

He did have a chance. He couldn't even hit the field on a kickoff in the Super Bowl.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
