Cam has another person to prove wrong in Terry Bradshaw...

Funny, no one was convinced he was an NFL starting QB either for the first few years of his career...

Yet, he ended up in the HOF.

TB has a habit of hating on young QBs, in part because I think he's insecure about where he stands in the history of the game...

He's hated on Big Ben too, and how has that turned out on the field? So, I'll take it.

SN: FWIW, Joe Theismann said Cam is mechanically sound, just not accurate last night on NFC Playbook, and said he thought he would be successful it would just take time . IIRC, Mayock said Cam was mechanically sound as well. Cam is gonna be really good a lot sooner than people think, IMO. f*ck TB.

Do u folks really pay attention to these folks. It seems these retired QBs now know who pay their checks and have to regurgitate their boss's talking points.

Football must be the only post where the retired players seems to always wany to show such hate towards the rookies.

Oh look, another thread where a bunch of cotton headed ninny muggins think that criticizing = hate

I hate all of you. There's a huge difference between the two. Criticizing would mean I just think you're wrong, but when I have to force out a kidney stone I just imagine it being getting the concentrated stupid from the Huddle out of my system.

I am so angry I have to wait until 4 for the game ):<

I've personally met Bradshaw and talked to him on several occasions. He is very arrogant and the way he is on TV is the way he is everywhere. I can't stand him and personally I think he is extremely over-rated. Talking about QBs that don't have perfect technique, yet he himself is an example of one who can success. He was relentless and that was a good thing because he had to be to win with some of the dumb moves he made in the NFL. Also, the Steeler team was very good as a whole, Bradshaw wasn't like Monatana for the 49ers or Brees for the Saints.

This is of course a bias opinion because I can't stand him...he should not be a TV announcer, he is a good and successful player, but is horrible at everything else we see of him IMO.

In today's NFL Terry Bradshaw would have been out of the league bagging groceries somewhere before he won 4 super bowls.

In his first five seasons he only completed more than 50% percent of his passes once in a season and never had more TDs than INTs.

People talk about Aikmen's rookie season in defense of Clausen but they should use Bradshaw's rookie year.

38% completion percentage, 6 tds, and 24 INTs.

Today he would have been declared a bust after that rookie year and would have likely been sent packing before he developed into a top QB in the NFL.

TB said he wouldnt have taken him that high, he isnt mechanically sound and that Gabbert, Ponder, and Locker are ahead of him.

Cam Newton breaks a Terry Bradshaw record, per ESPN:

Cam Newton's 77-yard Pass TD is the longest by a No. 1 overall draft pick since the merger in 1970. The previous mark was 67 yards set by Terry Bradshaw in 1970. Only 4 of the 19 quarterbacks since the merger selected No. 1 overall threw a 50+ yard TD for their first career TD. Besides Bradshaw and Newton, the only others to do it are Troy Aikman and Drew Bledsoe.

Suck on that, Terry.

But still, I hope Cam's career ends up closer to Bradshaw's, or Aikman's, than Bledsoe's, lol.

Bradshaw certainly knows what it takes to be an NFL QB winning 4 Super Bowls in 6 years. Howerer, no one can predict the fututre. I like Strahan's comment after Terry saying he cant wait for one of these QB's (Newton, The Golden Calf of Bristol etc) to come out and prove all the naysayers wrong.

Yep...play on a team with a NASTY defense...two phenomenal receivers....a fantastic run game.

Bradshaw IS one of the most over-rated QB's in the history of the NFL. He was the beneficiary of the team around him. He was NOT a QB that would have carried a team to greatness.

Not to mention that he is one dim bulb. Guy sounds like he has a sub 100 IQ.

Who is more overrated....Bradshaw or Namath.

Good luck trying to figure that one out :)

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
