I want Andrew Luck to fail.

Do you want Andrew Luck to fail?

I do. It's nothing personal against him, the team he goes to, or anything like that. The reason I want him to fail is because if he had decided to come out of school, the Panthers would have drafted him instead of Cam Newton. Newton has been everything a #1 overall pick should be. An instant starter, a game changer, and a guy you can build your franchise around. He has broken records held by a guy named Manning. He's turned around the fortune of a recently downtrodden franchise. Obviously he's still a rookie and things can always change, but Cam Newton looks like a home run pick.

So why does all that make me want Andrew Luck to fail? We have our guy, right? It's because we would have picked him over Cam Newton. What's to say Cam would have been a success if he went somewhere else? I would be happy knowing we drafted a guy who became a success over a guy who became a bust. Luck is so highly regarded that teams might be tanking the season just to get him. I just want to thumb my nose at the team that drafts him and say "We got Cam...and Luck failed."

But maybe that's just me being a selfish Panther fan. So be it.

He'll probably be a smashing success. Even if he fails in the NFL, he'll be a mutli-millionaire with a degree from Stanford. He wins no matter what. He's an extremely fortunate human being if he turns out to be a successful QB or not.

If he makes it as a starter in the NFl then I want him to fail every time we play him. Otherwise I hope he has a great career. Why would it hurt us if he does great unless he is in our division or we play his team. Him doing well is no reflection on newton or the fact he stayed in school.

Honestly I am pleased he decided to stay in school. He did us a huge favor.

If Andrew Luck pulls the draft day crap that Eli Manning pulled in 2004, I will be rooting for him to fail.

And the speculation is that he might:

But, frankly, I am beyond thankful that he did slap our organization in the face and pull out of the draft, because we've got the real once-in-a-generation quarterback now!

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
