So does LaFell get the start at WR2 from here on out?

5 receptions for 46 yards including a long 23-yard catch. grabbed everything thrown his way except for that long out route by the sidelines (arguably uncatchable.)

did he show any reasons today why he shouldn't be starting across from steve smith?

He had a big drop (it was at the time) on a third and long on an out route.

To answer your question though, He should definitely be at the #2 spot for the rest of the year. He's made Big catches all year. He's earned the nod IMO

LaFell and Naanee have posted similar numbers this year. they both tend to have a couple of grabs a game (Naanee with the slight edge, due of course more playing time.)

but... LaFell is the future. Naanee is not. I expect to see #11 starting the rest of the season. I'm excited to see what he can do once we have a legitimate slot thread (hopefully steve smith, once gettis returns to the field next year.)

If anyone is complainin about not catching that out route then their nitpicking. Every receiver on the team probably would have dropped that or wudnt have been in bounds, from what i remember it was a bit out there.

All season he's shown that he's talented enough to take the number 2 from naanee. This game his stats werent anything spectacular but still solid enuff to show his ability to perform when given the chances.

For the rest of the season... yes. For next season, I assume that a healthy Gettis will overtake Lafell for the #2 WR and Lafell will play the slot. ON another note, with 2 good kick returns in 2 weeks, I'm hoping we try to get Pilares more involved in the passing game at the #3 WR before the season is over to see what he can do in our offense.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
