Pompous People

I had lunch with a potential client today and he had to run an errand at the bank so I rode along as I bank at the same branch he does and figured I would make a deposit while there as well.

Now this guy is worth millions I know but when he gets up to the counter the poor teller asks for his ID to cash a check. No kidding he looks at her dead in the eye and says "Do you know who I am?" He then proceeds to tell her that the bank should do a much better job of educating them on their bigger commercial customers.

Back in the car he he told me "do you believe that?' I responded" no I didn't, I can't believe you acted like that-what are they supposed to do hang a picture of major customers in each teller window?" I don't care if I don't get his business...he would be too much of a pain in the a** anyway.

Any other stories like this out there?

this is a small world I took this crappy sales man to the bank with me while I was trying to withdraw a couple hundred grand the teller didn't recognize me and she was pissing me off so I told her about her self !!! so this guy started being a total douche to me about it. ......Needless to say I didn't hire him.

I work in a pharmacy so i get to see quite a few pissed off people. But I was busy as hell one day and trying to ring up a couple in the drive thru. The guy in the car behind them got out and walked up to the window and gave me his name so I could help him. I must have looked at him like he was a fugin retard because he then looked at me and said "well you were taking your god damn time, I didn't know if you were just in there jerking off or what." I fugin laid into the guy. I didn't curse (gotta pay the bills) but the guy was surprised I said anything judging by the look on his face. I don't kiss anyone's ass, especially an assclown like that.

I see that kind of stuff at Starbucks all the time...bunch of fuging assholes in there.

They get in line and make a complicated ass order and then are completely rude to the only person trying to help them. I had one girl actually say thank you to me one time because the lady in front of me was being such a raging bitch to her I made it a point to let her know it was ridiculous while she was standing there.

People are just rude, most likely because they have their own miserable lives and have to make themselves feel above other people by putting them down.

    • If his seat was hot enough for him to be fired 6 games in then you should've just fired him when you made the decision to draft a QB #1 overall. I don't think you go from "this is definitely our guy" to "you're fired in 6 games". Seems like there would be had to have been doubts going in and that's not a recipe for success for a rookie QB.
    • I like to use the analogy that a high draft pick QB is like a new supercar. Great to have one except too often, one forgets that they are high maintenance. A bad team secures their car under a cheap tent, puts regular gas in the tank, services it at Pep Boys, and then blames the car for not working properly and proceeds to get another one.  At the least, Ward getting sacked 25 times already is a massive red flag. If you can't protect your rookie QB, you do not put him out there. Otherwise, it's taking your supercar and immediately spinning it right into a tree. A few survive that rough of a start. Most do not.
    • I don't think there's any one size fits all answer. I think you play the rookie when A) you think he's ready and B) you think there's a reasonable expectation that the overall situation provides him an opportunity to be successful, not necessarily in terms of wins and losses but just in terms of giving him a fighting chance with surrounding talent. If you rush either one it's probably not gonna be pretty.
