Atleast Godfrey celebrates with the magic man after every tackle he makes

Hell...he celebrates with that gay poo even when he blows coverage or gives up a touchdown

I hate when he does that crap. He does it when he's not even in on plays sometimes, just near them. It's cool after a big hit/play, but not everytime you drag somebody down.

I haven't been blown away from the safety play this season. I know it's not a priority, but all positions need to be looked at to see how they can improve. Safety is not excluded.

Don't know what the draft or FA will bring, but could see some changes at the position. It would be awesome to have a ball hawk like Reed.

brucebrewskie and zod are right. they may not be the best tacklers in the league but that statistic is skewed simply because the number of tackles they've had to make is much higher than it normally would be. same goes for any position - some of the wide receivers with the most drops in the league also lead it in receptions and yards.

I don't buy that at all.

Carolina's defense hasn't had to defend more plays than any other team. Carolina's defense has given up huge plays.....they haven't had to defend an absurd amount of plays more than other teams.

Martin's missed tackles aren't skewed. Godfrey is a SS asked to make tackles against the run.

Godfrey is a SS and is suppose to come up and play the run. Carolina may be weak defensively but they aren't defending more than the average.

One thing I've noticed is Godfrey's big hits (at least on RB's) almost always happen when they're already engaged with another defender. If it's one on one, he just seems to lower his head and launch himself through the air in the general direction of the runner. I've seen him do this several times and completely whiff on the tackle.

CRA does that stat say weather it was a RB or WR that they missed the tackle on?

nope. Just got it from PPF. All it did was list those 2 players and where they ranked.

off the top of my head, I can name some huge passing TDs Martin has whiffed on WRs. I think Martin has been responsible for 3 50+ yard TD passes that should of been stopped for a modest gain. I would imagine Martin is more 50/50 WR and RB and Godfrey is more RB. That is just a guess though.

i agree i know Martin has whiffed a lot on WR's and since the SS plays in the box a lot more pretty sure he has missed a lot more on RB's. didnt realize it was that bad as far as tackling but this spot needs to upgraded and more competition needs to be brought in.

    • Outside of cerrato, I do like our draft overall. Hard to get can't miss draft picks when you pick late in the draft
    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
