Panthers reportedly have serious interest in a DT at senior bowl

And just FWIW Campbell reports that we also interviewed a few players..

Good - that's the list of players that really stood out for me when I watched the South's practice.

Hopefully we start drafting well in every round, rather than the spotty record we currently have.

Janoris Jenkins is far and away the best CB at the Senior Bowl this year. Dwight Bentley of Lou Lafayette out performed Hayward today in my mind. I don't think he's the better prospect overall, but he did play better-and this is just the South talking about. The North would be a whole other can of worms.

Jenkins is comfortably the best.

Bentley is good, but he'd be flagged a ton of times if they reffed practice. Hayward has come out of nowhere for me and has really impressed.

Here is something I read before East West Shrine game

One of the nifty features of the Shrine game is that every year they include several players from Canadian universities, most of whom have a great week in the south and then back north to continue their careers in the CFL. There may be an exception this year as Regina DT Akiem Hicks may attract more than passing interest from NFL teams. Hicks certainly passed the eyeball test in the morning weigh-in measuring in at almost 6-5 and 324 pounds; he also has arms that measured over 35" long with a huge wingspan of 84". Hicks then put the pads on and looked very impressive at the first East practice showing a nice combination of quickness and strength as he was pretty much dominant in the one-on-one pass blocking drill. As noted, though, this drill can be overrated since it heavily favors the defensive guys, but let's just suffice to say that nobody showed me more than Hicks during that venue today. Right now he looks to be the best Canadian football prospect I have ever seen at an All-Star Game. Stay tuned for more on his progress.

A bit bigger at 324 than advertised. And carries it very well

Aikeem Hicks was brought up by me in the Brockers thread. he impressed all last week, and even in the Shrine game he ran down a screen pass for a 3 yard gain that was close to the sideline. that shows pretty good awareness, and footwork for a guy that is 6'5 325. in college he was an LSU recruit but got into some mess with that but he played every where along the DL.0,3,5,7 and 9 and played a 2 point stance DE.

Happy to see the team is actively scouting fly prospects and not staying pat. Also happy to see them scouting Hayward, he's near the top of my do want list.

Thats their job bro. I hear Dwight Jones is having a good practices. I think theres a good chance he could be similar to Hakeem Nicks. As much as I like J Jenkins like a lot of you guys, I don't think there is any way we can get him. He's too low at #8 and will be gone by our 2nd round pick. Keep an eye on the kid from L-lafeyette and Dennard from Nebraska( who I am not that high on).
