yeah plus do you really trust a mid/late round rookie coming in to take over if cam is hurt?

backup qbs are usually vets that have been around for awhile, not some rookie you'd have to worry about, spend a ton of time coaching up and giving snaps to before he'd be ready to play

The State homer in me would love it. Seeing him and Cam on the sidelines would be amazing. HOWEVA, I can't see us using a pick on a QB unless he falls...far.

If we had our 3rd, I wouldn't mind taking him in the 5th.

Yeah I'd only be willing to get him if for whatever reason he fell to the 6th or 7th. Don't really think that will happen but maybe.

Since we don't have a 3rd rounder this year and will be using the draft heavily, we can't afford to take a QB on a flier any sooner than the 6th or seventh round. Even then Hurney does some of his best work at the bottom of the draft. If we fill some needs in FA then maybe. Otherwise we should be able to pick a QB as an UDFA or cheap veteran. Wilson is not a bad player but honestly he isn't that great either.

I like having a vet behind Cam right now. If not DA, he has a year of rust now, then somebody.

Joe Person is the worst beat writer in the NFL. I don't know if I'd like the move. We have too many needs to waste a pick on a Cam's mini-me (dude is a midget as far as NFL QBs go). But late round picks are a crapshoot anyway (our 6th rounder from last year) so I wouldn't be pissed. I just wanted to take the time to say outwardly that Joe Person is a turd.
