Catching some grief from the Defensive Tackle with the first crowd yet? I agree Floyd is gonna make some team very happy. I think his value is right where we are picking and don't understand those saying if he slips to the second we will take him. Matter of fact could see someone trade up for him. The 49ers and the Bears are looking for a real deal numero uno WR and the Eagles are looking for DeSean "Sideline Cancer" Jackson's replacement.

after blackmon there is a clump of about 4 or 5 WRs without a lot of seperation. floyd is right in the middle of that clump.

I disagree with ya Rayzor. Imagine that. In my opinion there are only three possible Elite WR's. Blackmon, Wright and Floyd. Sanu, Jones, Randle, and the rest will not be able to come right in and produce like the Top Three. There is a definite gulf between the two groups.

Matter of fact i think its the DT class that has very little separation in talent. With no Suh or Dareus scouts have inflated the value of Brockers and Still. If i may i would like to rank the DT's imo.

1a. Brockers

1b. Still

1c. Brandon Thompson

2a. Jerel Worthy

2b. Fletcher Cox

3a. Dontari Poe

3b. Josh Chapman

See what i did there? Too much comparable talent to reach. Tier 1 are the all around guys with the most upside. Tier 2 are the pass rush and McLain competition. Last but not least Chapman and Poe are insurance if Edwards comes back less that 100% and or Fua does not step up. Then again i feel that drafting two last year, the emergence of Neblett, and the return of Edwards makes this a potential logjam on the depth chart and ultimately a wasted pick.

Just my opinion but Poe, Chapman, and my pick Mike Martin of Michigan could all come in a contribute on our team or any other team just as well as Brockers or Still.

why are you talking about DTs?

i thought this was a discussion of Floyd and WRs.

i think this is a very good class of WRs. sorry if you don't agree with me that there isn't much seperation between those WRs. i just don't see it. it's not knocking floyd. i he's one of the best in a very good and deep class.

i think any of floyd, jeffery, wright, sanu and randle can come in right away and do well starting. i don't mess around with ranking these guys because i think they are all massively talented and a lot of it depends on the situation they go to. i could even see all these guys taken in the first round. i expect that there will be at least 4 WRs taken in the first.

WRs are coming out better prepared for the pro level just like QBs are. i wouldn't be a bit surprised to see all those guys and a couple other rookie WRs starting by the season's end.

as far as us drafting a WR in the first...no question i'm not a fan of that idea because i think that fixing the D is the biggest priority. go BPA on D is what i suggest. i just happen to see that brockers can be that elite talent that you look for that early. quite a few people agree with me on that. if blackmon miraculously falls to us somehow then we take him, but that won't happen. same with kalil. same with claiborne.

i'm not singularly focused on DT. i just think that if brockers is as good as advertised then he could make the biggest positive difference out of anyone aside from those few i listed. if we trade back i'm available to more options.

by not taking a WR that early, we might miss out on a very talented prospect later, but the same can be said for lots of positions.

just my opinion.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
