Who would you pick??

Brockers - The interior DL bolsters run defense and helps the pass rush. The CB class is deep (Hosley, Minnifield, Hayward, Jenkins).

Edit:Say for example Brockers would produce like Suh and Jenkins would produce like Revis. I'd take Jenkins in that case.

Why do people think that if we add some magical pass rusher that we automatically get lotza and lotza sacks!

You must have a dominant DT to have a consistently good pass rushing DL. To think otherwise is simply contradictory to basic laws of the game. It doesn't matter how many good DE's you have without interior pressure.

Its not a must to have a dominant DT to have a good pass rush.

To have a front four that can consistently get to the QB without use of additional blitzes and extra scheming, you must have an interior presence that can provide pressure in the middle of the line.

Was that verbalized well enough for you? Because if you disagree with that-and I'll be nice here-but if you disagree with that, you're very, very, wrong.

This has been my favorite thread..i feel like this is similar to what RR and Hurney actually do. Personally, I don't think we can go wrong with Brockers or Coples..I think only one will be available when we pick so the decision will be made for us. But if not, then I'm still on that Coples wagon.

Reiff is the safest pick.

Coples can actually play DT as well as DE and has a high chance of succeeding in the NFL imo. I just don't trust this guy playing at 100% after he gets a paycheck.

Brockers is the rawest of all of them but also gives you reasons to believe. He loves the game and seems pretty smart. Right now he's my favorite... for the time anyway.

fug the other 2.

If they're all the same level, Brockers is the obvious choice. DT is the most integral position on the defensive side of the ball for fielding an elite defense. Jenkins is the secid choice, but Brockers edges him out because having a dominant interior generally improves your secondary.

Agree very much :) To fantastic DTs can make average DEs a lot better when they force QBs to move out of the pocket. Two fantastic DEs does not do the same thing for DTs because the QB can just step up in the pocket.

We NEED a better DT.

so according to your statement the Giants pass d is successful because of Linval Joseph. you can use a DE such as Coples to slide into the middle to make a presence. you also need several other aspects, which is why im saying it has to be between one of the DL because thats were it starts. as of right now Coples and Brockers are equal. il be cool with either but hopefully both spots will get looked at with the 1st and 2nd rounders.

    • Over previous years? Sure is 😆
    • An odd little vibe I've noticed here of late: some folks are "all or nothing" to an absolutely extreme level when it comes to Bryce. Here's a bit of truth telling though: There are, in fact, things Bryce does well. Likewise, there are areas in which he's improved over his time here. He has, on several occasions now, legitimately helped us win games. On the flipside, there have been failures in other areas as well as coaching that we're not in any way his fault.  And finally , it is also genuinely possible that the team may see him as the future, even if we don't. The craziest part, though? It's actually possible that they're right and we're wrong. All of this is true, and more, yet if you accept any of these premises people go from zero to apesh-t in under three seconds 😳 Anything less than total disavowal of Bryce and / or agreement that he's the worst QB of all time and suddenly you're a "stan". Oy 🙄 The reality though?  Bryce is indeed an NFL quarterback. Not a great one, probably backup level good, and I've seen way worse. Now, if you run that statement through your personal Google translator and it comes back with some version of "I want to throw 50 million a year at Bryce for the next 10 years", that's not really my issue it's yours  I don't wanna make him the franchise quarterback, but it's not my call. Win or lose, the team is going to do what they think is best. And as always, if it disagrees with what I think we should do, I'm gonna hope I'm the one who's wrong. Internet clout means nothing. Watching my favorite team win at my favorite sport meas fun 😁
