Love it, especially if we get garay and a FS in FA

Its probably a super reach...but my dream scenario would be something on the lines of this draft with Garay (DT) & Reggie Nelson (FS) as our big acquisitions in the free agency.

I'd love the draft IF we do land a DT in FA.

I just want RW on the Panthers.

Yeah, like I said it was made pretty much under that idea of a DT to compliment Edwards in the FA

I was basically trying to see what moves we could make if we don't go DT in the first (plus I think Jenkins is tha' tits). I don't think it'd be worth it to take anyone past Brockers/Cox/Worthy if none are there in the 2nd (of course not Brockers). The quality just isn't there in my view and I'd rather go OLB, OT, or DE.

Brockers & Jenkins are the two it came down to for me, while there's also guys like Cox, Kirkpatrick, and Ingram floating around to consider. I'm over Still and don't really think Upshaw fits us well.

You look to the FA and there's an even greater limit on CBs (maybe Middleton or Carr) than DTs. I think Garay should be the FA priority if Rivera really likes the guy for our system. The FS market is friendly this year.

Definitely would add several contributors to the team with this draft. I agree that we could trade down and still get Jenkins (assuming his combine doesn't drastically change things). I think it's easier to get a contributor at DB than DL, especially out of this draft.

Is Curry a tweener?

No DT's? Not even one? I don't know about this.. Other than that the other picks are fine with me. I think we could use a safety in the draft too.

problem with DT in the draft is your looking at another year similar to McClain and Fua.. if you want an effective DT, it's FA or nothing..

Curry I believe has played as a LB but in the NFL he'd be strictly a DE. he's something like 6'4 265 so he'll be able to bulk up a bit and also can drop back into coverage to cover the middle of the field on some of our crazy blitz schemes. (correct me if I'm wrong I'm at work on the pad)

    • We’re in a pickle. My best hope is we protect him and can run the ball vs most Ds and the WRs are healthy so he has every chance to not look like what he looked like in too many games last year.
    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
